This is Hour 8 ... a gaming release that was quite strong last year with its design and checklist -- and this is a special-format box printed, packed and released in India.

Card That Stole The Show: The Ripley XL card is the gem to me here -- that set is epic -- and The Fiend also isn't a bad find (guaranteed) either.

What's Buzz-worthy: I stumbled upon this one looking for a box of this UK-based release and apparently this one is one of several Slam Attax packages made by Topps India -- printed, packaged and sold there -- for that market. This one's appeal to me was the three guaranteed Topps XL cards -- two of the three best cards are in this box if you ask me -- along with the other noted foils and then a boatload of packs. The printing and cutting can run similar to the UK version -- it's not perfect here, either -- but I also found some immensely rough cards in the packs. The back of one Daniel Bryan foil is at right -- I've never seen anything like that out of a pack. (Click for a closer look.) It wasn't alone but none were as roughed up as that one. Most cards here had rough cuts on the usual range of things and several had the rough edges or corners like the UK version had in its tins. Also had some foil cards with bubbles and missing ink. The good news here? The cost was around just $30 ... which is still a fraction of what it would cost for a box and then shipping (and then currency conversion) for a standard box of packs from the UK that doesn't have the bonus inclusions found here. (XL cards are bonuses for buys off the Topps site.) Why buy these? Well, it's a cheap rip for starters and then you can find early/first cards for a number of NXT stars who, for whatever reason, tend to appear in Slam Attax releases before hitting typical Topps sets. Last year's lineup of WWE stuff was delayed quite a bit by COVID and this one was the only option to find a number of those young stars (see the early part of the gallery) for a good part of the year. I also simply liked the design of stuff here, too. Why is this one here? Something different, off the radar, that should appeal to collectors and perhaps to somebody who likes a grading challenge ... huge challenge.

Box Grade: A (Ripley and The Fiend XL cards are nice guarantees along with the first cards for NXTers)
