Buzz's BlowoutTV Breakdown: 2019 Topps Stadium Club

Group breaks have been a game-changer for the card industry for several years now and from time to time Buzz will jump into a BlowoutTV break of some type and break down the results of what he landed by picking up a team. There are near-daily breaks right here with Matt on Blowout TV during weekday working hours and even more from Houdini and others over on the forum in the evening.

Now, it's time for a new break breakdown -- a spot in a 2019 Topps Stadium Club case.

Initial Reaction: With all of the big teams in this release, I will readily admit that I wasn't happy landing the Tigers in this one -- a situation where I would have gladly traded away my team -- but things paid off relatively well odds-wise.

Final Thoughts: This is a safe break for a decent price with some safe odds since there are 32 autographs per case -- and maybe more. (All box-toppers in this Houdini break went to the only team without ink on the checklist -- some can be signed.) I beat the basic odds by landing not just one but two autos despite the fact that Stewart is the only signer for the Tigers. Even more unlikely? I landed the one in 5,366 packs -- one in 21 cases -- Gold Rainbow auto parallel for Stewart. The only bummer here with these on-card autos? Because they are on-card they're redemptions for this particular player. The Tigers are, to put it mildly, a bit of a mess these days so the checklist here is mostly young players of little hobby interest and Miguel Cabrera who probably doesn't have a ton more despite future Hall of Famer status. Thankfully this brand also includes a lot of retro players so seeing Ty Cobb and Al Kaline helped this break. Stewart's MLB numbers are pretty rough as a rookie but his MiLB stats are solid so hopefully there's more to come here ... my real decision is whether I wait to redeem or just do it now and hope things improve by the time I receive them. You can do very well with breaks of this brand if a breaker sends all cards (I, myself, would only do breaks that way) considering some of the rookies and all of the big names found here. There are a number of one-per-case parallels and inserts that also can make standard cards a little more in-demand than you might expect.
