This year's presidential race is one that's gotten plenty of attention for arguably all the wrong reasons, but no matter which way you lean there's plenty of potential memorabilia if that's your type of thing. (Buzz isn't all that interested but knows some of you inevitably will be, so here we are.)

How?

On the candidates' official websites. That's where you'll find coloring books, ugly sweaters, barbecue gear, caps, shirts, and, of course, plenty of signs and buttons. You'll find koozies, calendars, all kinds of stuff ... and even water bottles. (Some sell anti-competitor items, too, but it might not be who you think taking that approach.) The costs are sometimes low -- but often not -- and, interestingly, only one of the five candidates, Ted Cruz, sells actual autographed items. (The poster above? That's $55, though there's no note of its size.)

When Topps' latest Doctor Who set arrives in May, it will include one of the biggest autograph lineups in the hobby for a single-franchise non-sports release and a number of first-time signers.

There will be 75 signers in all for 2016 Topps Doctor Who Timeless, including six past Doctors and stars who have made their marks elsewhere such as Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). In all, there will be 40 first-time signers, according to the company.

“We are very proud of Timeless,” said brand manager Mark Von Ohlen. “We dedicated a lot of time and effort to make the kind of trading card set that Whovians everywhere will love. We have a huge list of autograph signers and a variety of costume pieces to collect. This is the set that any Doctor Who fan out there will want to collect.”

Topps is bringing some star power to its next wave of Star Wars card sets, revealing one of the biggest autographs possible for the first generation of the film franchise on Friday.

Harrison Ford will be among the signers for Topps Star Wars: The Force Awakens Series 2 when it arrives on March 23. He's the biggest of nine signers revealed since the last time we checked in on the brands. (Update: Topps has released a few more notable names ... you can see them in our gallery.)

She may not be the champ, but she's still in big demand -- and that was enough for Fanatics Authentic.

Ronda Rousey is the latest exclusive athlete for Fanatics, the company announced on Thursday afternoon. She joins a roster that already includes Kris Bryant, Peyton Manning, Stephen Curry and Alexander Ovechkin.

When 2016 Topps Legacies of Baseball arrives on March 30, the new brand will include a first-time signer for the company.

That signer is Los Angeles Dodgers rookie pitcher Kenta Maeda, who signed with the team after a successful career in Japan and made his spring debut this past weekend.

“Maeda is a popular player on a big market team with dominant international statistics,” said baseball brand manager Zvee Geffen. “It’s a combination driving excitement for fans everywhere, and Topps is the only place collectors will find his Major League Baseball-licensed autographed cards.”

Peyton Manning's 18-year NFL career that includes five MVP awards, two Super Bowl rings and more touchdowns and passing yards than any other quarterback in history comes to an end on Monday in Denver when he's expected to announce his retirement.

It's been three years since the last TNA Wrestling card set from TRISTAR, so the autographs from some of the wrestling promotion's top stars may be starting to dry up a bit on cardboard.

The company has changed a lot in the last few years, too, which makes a new development on its  website, ShopTNA.com, a surprise. How? A few generations of old promotional photos can be found autographed for bargain prices -- and many are signed by top names who have not been involved with TNA for some time.

He's a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a writer and broadcaster -- the "preeminent and foremost authority on tennis in the world" according to the Hall -- and a legend in his own field as a winner of the Associated Press Sports Editors' Red Smith Award and a member of the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame.

He's Bud Collins -- the voice of tennis for more than 50 years -- and he died Friday at age 86.

“No media figure in history in my mind has ever been as important to one sport as Bud Collins was to the sport of tennis,” said Mike Lupica, a New York Daily News columnist, to The Boston Globe, where Collins was a long-time writer. “You can’t minimize it. He became the de facto ambassador to that sport as it was exploding in this country. He educated. He entertained.”

And he had tennis cards, too.

Topps Authentics is clearly hoarding top young shortstops.

Cleveland Indians star Francisco Lindor is the latest player to sign on exclusively with Topps' autographed memorabilia line after a rookie season that included a .313 average, 12 homers and 51 RBI in just 99 games last year. He finished second in the American League Rookie of the Year race to fellow shortstop and Topps Authentics player Carlos Correa.

His autographs will be found on oversized Chrome cards, jerseys, balls and bats as part of the deal and he joins a group that also includes Yankees pitcher Luis Severino, Red Sox pitcher Henry Owens and Braves third baseman Hector Olivera.

There's a surprise to be found in some packs of 2016 Donruss that officially arrives Wednesday as cards of Ted Giannoulas -- aka The Famous San Diego Chicken -- can be found inside.

Card No. 151 in the set is not a veteran, Hall of Famer or rookie -- it's a card of the world-famous and Hall of Famer mascot.

But more important than that card and all of its parallels? There are memorabilia cards and autographed memorabilia cards of the legendary mascot to be found as part of the product's overall nod back to 1982 -- the year of the Chicken's "Rookie Card."

It's the ink of Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley and it can be found via Steiner Sports.

The New Rochelle, N.Y.-based autograph memorabilia company offered nine signed photos on Monday night with prices starting at $649.99 for an 8-by-10 image.

Do you consider the details when it comes to the storage of your sports cards and memorabilia?

You should.

We probably all have a closet or a card room we frequent often, but there may be nooks and crannies we don't check often -- sometimes for months in a row. That's Buzz, and Buzz got a surprise this weekend with the discovery of some discolored carpet in the bottom of a closet -- it was from moisture and that's bad for a collector because those white storage boxes are thirsty. They love dry and dark environments -- but they love to drink up every drop of water they can find.

Thankfully, there was absolutely no damage done here -- except damage to one stressed-out collector -- because the details about storage were thought about long ago. Some strategies when it comes to storage saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars in this case.

Topps has a pair of upcoming non-sports sets in the works -- Star Wars: The Force Awakens Series 2 and Doctor Who Timeless -- and the company has been busy teasing upcoming signers for both releases.

So far, there have been five names announced for both sets. For the Star Wars set, there will be former Alias and Heroes star Greg Grunberg, BB-8 operator Brian Herring, Harriet Walter, Jessica Henwick and David Acord.

Why?

Because barely any of this year's top nominees have ever signed on for a certified (non-cut) autograph. And, in most instances, it's been years since those few who have signed have sat down to do the honors.

More than 30 NFL greats' autographs will be found in a new Topps football product that will begin shipping on on Feb. 29.

The brand is 2015 Topps 60th Anniversary Retired Autographs and it's a one-card pack with an autograph inside. Initially found only on Topps.com, they will sell for $75 a pack.

The feel-good story of the sports world this year now has some memorabilia to reflect it.

How? NHL All-Star Game MVP John Scott has signed an autograph deal with Fanatics Authentic.

Scott was an NHL journeyman voted into the game by fans before the NHL reportedly asked him to decline the dubious honor. Then, he was traded and demoted to the minor leagues, making him ineligible for the game, before public backlash had him back in the event where he went on to score a pair of goals and take home MVP honors. His story will potentially become a movie with sportswriter Mitch Albom signing on to write the tale.

Topps Authentics has itself an Atlanta Brave.

Third baseman Hector Olivera was revealed as the next player who has signed an exclusive deal with Topps' memorabilia division. His signed jerseys, balls, bats, oversized Chrome cards and more will only be found on Topps.com as part of the deal.

“I am so happy to be working with Topps,” Olivera said in a prepared release. “I’m honored that they wanted me to part of the Topps family. It’s a great opportunity and I look forward to seeing the excitement on baseball fans’ faces.”
