Items from Whitney Houston's estate are currently on the auction block -- a selection of awards, memorabilia, clothing and items given to the legendary performer -- via Heritage Auctions as part of an entertainment and music memorabilia auction ending on June 24.

An American flag that led the first U.S. troops onto Utah Beach during D-Day on June 6, 1944, fetched legendary dollars on Sunday via Heritage Auctions.

It sold for $514,000 and was purchased by Bert Kreuk, a Dutch art collector who lives in New York as well as Switzerland.

"This is one of the most important historical American flags ever to come to auction, a symbol of our freedom," Kreuk told the auction house, "And with our freedom I mean that of Europe in particular."

It sounded like a fun, cheap rip of some oldschool wax -- a late-night buy just because it was a good deal -- but it turned into another lesson about old cardboard.

This time, the product was a long-forgotten (and maybe unknown to some) release from Pro Set back in 1991 -- the company's UK edition of SuperStars MusiCards.

To those of you who were around for Pro Set, you probably fondly remember the football card chases created by the Dallas, Texas-based company in 1989 and 1990 and the overproduction that was happening but we never saw because everybody (and their mother) was buying. By 1991, many of its products -- and there were many in the non-football realm -- arrived with a thud. Not because they were bad but because they were trying new things and new things didn't always work. (And because the presses kept on rolling.) By 1993, the company was back down to football and by 1994 the company was gone completely.

And if you weren't around then? Well, you missed out on some of the best simple cardboard of all times ... and one example of that is this 1991 SuperStars MusiCards UK Editon.

The Upper Deck Gallery's latest release features one of the more iconic films of recent years with two versions for collectors to choose from.

This time, the film is Kill Bill and a pair of prints by artist Krista Timberlake are the latest creation from the company in a series of pieces featuring past films and comic book characters.

“I've always been a great admirer of Quentin Tarantino's films, and Kill Bill Vol. 1 is way up there on my list of favorites," Timberlake said. "The film has a ton of tough chicks with complex character development, fabulous one-liners, hysterically funny and cringe-worthy gratuitous violence bits, the best-choreographed fight scenes ever and a stellar soundtrack.”

The unique structure of the Orphan Black story -- one where lead Tatiana Maslany plays not one but five characters -- is sure to prompt some creative twists from Cryptozoic as it readies its Orphan Black Season 1 set.

The first twist can be seen above.

As Cryptozoic released teaser images of it signers for the forthcoming product, it also provided to Buzz a look at a variation autograph of Maslany as Helena. This comes in addition to her standard autograph as Sarah Manning.
