The Item: Jerry Jeudy 2020 Panini Playbook Vault booklet (/10)
The Price: $163.50 after 23 bids (four days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a perfect example of some of the big stuff coming out of boxes of this brand this year. Playbook is a line where you typically get some kind of booklet in every box -- one per this year -- and I can say I've window-shopped this one hard through the years. (I've never been focused enough on any one player to commit and chase something like this, though.) Once the initial flood of cards like this hits eBay they will get a lot tougher to find for a lot of guys -- maybe not the biggest names with the biggest dollar signs -- and that's why watching what arrives right now can be important. Soccer icon David Beckham has a new team ... Panini America. 

The "exclusive long-term relationship that makes Beckham a global brand ambassador for the company" will include soccer cards as well as signed memorabilia via Panini Authentic.

“This partnership is one of the most significant in our history and we’re ecstatic to be able to bring David into the Panini family in such a meaningful way,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop in a prepared release. “We are excited to move into this next phase by highlighting him as a global ambassador through a variety of initiatives, trading cards and unique memorabilia that celebrate his incredible career.”

A new option for Chrome soccer fans is here ... and there's a new big name to chase within this one.

Topps released 2019-20 Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League Sapphire Edition boxes today on Topps.com for 582 Montgomery Club members initially at $80 apiece (limit two) and that's the starting point for a box that could spark global demand.

Why? It's a first for the company's popular Chrome soccer releases -- and the boxes include a Sapphire take on the card of FC Barcelona and Spain national team star Ansu Fati. His regular Chrome cards -- no autographs -- have been scorchers on eBay and now, there will be Sapphire cards and parallels for fans around the world to chase.

The Bucks bucks stop here ... or are they just getting started?

Giannis Antetokounmpo's 2013-14 Panini Prizm 1/1 Black Mosaic Rookie Card parallel topped the million-dollar mark on the auction block this weekend via Goldin Auctions.

It sold for $1,168,500 after 25 bids and it wasn't the only notable NBA card sold by the auction house. In fact, there were more than a dozen six-figure sales for notable basketball, baseball, football, soccer and gaming cards in this single auction event that included more than $14 million in sales.

"The number of records set in our Holiday Auctions is incredible," said founder Ken Goldin in a prepared release. “It clearly demonstrates a combination between the power of our marketing with the increased demand for cards and memorabilia. The future of the Hobby in general and Goldin Auctions looks very bright.”
