Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.
So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... and this time around there's a bit of everything.

ONE OF A KIND ...
The Piece: Shotzi Blackheart 2021 Topps WWE Undisputed Rob Schamberger original painting (plus an artist-signed copy of her card)
The Price: Less than a box of Undisputed
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This was a surprise find for me that I purchased straight from the artist's store. I got it in hand before I even had opened a box of the final Topps Undisputed release that just recently arrived and it's my second original that's part of a theme for me. A couple of years ago I landed his Sasha Banks painting from his first year of making cards within the Topps release (10 cards per year for 2019, 2020 and 2021) but I missed out on the 2020 piece I would have wanted. This batch wasn't really on my mind until I saw a tweet -- these popped up on his site and a few were gone the same day but there are some notables still up for grabs like Big E and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in their glorious 11-by-15 form. There won't be any prints of these -- just the cards, artist autos (/10) and new wrestler autos (/10) in packs -- so I'm on my way for a rainbow of collecting 'em all for the star simply now known as Shotzi. The image comes from a studio shot a little earlier in her WWE career (at right) but it still captures plenty of the energy from this star who has had a relatively consistent look (and the same name) since her time in the independent scene.

BETTER THAN A BOX.
The Piece: Sasha Banks 2019 Topps WWE Undisputed original art by Rob Schamberger
The Price: Same as a box of this year's Undisputed cards
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: For the last two years, Topps' Undisputed sets have included a subset showcasing the work of WWE artist Rob Schamberger whose pieces also have been found on countless prints, shirts and more as well as in WWE Canvas 2 Canvas video shorts. How popular is his work? Well, wrestler-signed prints have their own section over at WWE Auction and he also had original card-sized works in last year's Transcendent boxes -- and this year's Undisputed set has his autographs as one of its chases. One card from last year's set that got my attention upon arrival was the Banks, which I even submitted for grading and I hadn't really thought about that one until just recently with this year's new set. What popped up? Well, he launched his new website, Schamberger Labs, where collectors can find prints, original pieces and more and that's where I found this original. For months now, I had been eyeing an original watercolor/ink piece to showcase here (story perhaps to come later ... if I do grab that one) but with the new site announcement one recent morning I checked things out and was shocked to see this original. (His photo is above since it's too large for me to photograph well.) I hadn't really imagined any art from this set ever being available but I grabbed it with little hesitation. I figured these pieces might be locked away in Topps' or WWE's possession given the card presence, but, no, the Banks and a handful of other pieces were up for grabs. (Some are still there.) These 11-by-15 pieces aren't overwhelmingly large to manage -- mine is in a photo top-loader for now -- and there's a strong chance I'll display it at some point, though I never really display any of my buys. (Well, beyond showing them off here.) This was one of my favorite finds of the year ... and it's been a good year (of shopping at home).

ALL ABOUT THE PHOTOS
The Item: Zion Williamson 2019-20 Panini Chronicles Luminance Rookie Card
The Price: $114.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Searches for Chronicles really overload me -- there's just too much to choose from and then there are parallels atop all of them (so there are likely better bargains than this particular card and its price) -- but this set jumped out from the rest from this new and red-hot release. Luminance is all about the photos with a simple 1996-97 Fleer Ultra-ish feel (but no tail on the letters) and it might be the best of the best in this catch-all release. This card, the Ja Morant (even better) and the Luka Doncic card are all solid pieces and I'm sure there are others. Over time, the basic cards like this one will stand out from the rest because of the images even if they are easier finds than other rarer but uglier cards. It also doesn't hurt that Williamson is in his red uni here ... so many (too many) were in the drab blue uniforms we've seen all season long from the rookie photo shoot. Luminance is just 30 cards in Chronicles but each has nine parallel sets and some are very rare ... so it will be a bit of a challenge to collect 'em all. I would if I was patient enough.

SAFETY IN NUMBERS -- AS IN A BOATLOAD OF ROOKIE CARDS
The Box: 2019 Topps Update Series Baseball Jumbo Box
The Price: Click here
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This year's rookie crop is a strong one -- and there might be more potential than the 2018 class that sparked serious interest in this release last year. It was seemingly plentiful all year long and then poof -- the rocketship took off. This year's isn't super-cheap (right now) but some of that fuel seemingly has gone to Series 2 since it has earlier cards for a couple of high-profile guys -- Series 2 is pricey and surprised me -- but this one has some of those guys' cards as well as a number of others. Topps Chrome also seems to have some very good potential in my mind, too, but these jumbo boxes include a ton of stuff and the chances you get at parallels and other stuff here - in volume -- put this one at the top of my list. (And if you're on a budget and don't want to swing hard on this one -- you might look for blasters of Series 2 and Update both here and at retail ... those can still be found. These won't last as long as those, though.)Keep reading for five more interesting items in this week's roundup ...

GREEN MONSTER
The Item: Tim Duncan 1997-98 Metal Universe Precious Metal Gems Emerald (/10) (PSA 6)
The Price: $15,500 after 36 bids (eight days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one isn't mint -- they rarely are -- but that doesn't matter as this one is a rare pull from a line that people absolutely love and will pay dearly for especially when it's a key card of a Hall 0f Fame lock. This is a parallel of his Rookie Card with the PMGs being so condition-sensitive that only one is graded higher by PSA. I dabbled with the NBA much more back in this time but this entire brand just struck me as too kiddy-looking -- though I was a kid and I apparently never pulled any of these. Now they're among the biggest money-makers of any recent cardboard without autos or slabs. Don't believe me? Check out the link below and then also check completed auctions.

A card show begins in Los Angeles tonight and lasts all the way until March 26 -- and you have a shot at owning any and all of the superstars in attendance as long as you're there early enough.
The difference? It's at an art gallery -- at Gallery 1988 (East) -- and the cards are prints from California illustrator Cuyler Smith, whose focus is the biggest names in the sports world ... err, the sports movie world.
Buzz caught up with Smith before his show, "Trading Cards," opens with a reception tonight at 7 p.m.
Q: How did you happen to focus on cards and card-size art?
A: It all started when I made a card for a group show at Gallery 1988 focusing on the films of Tom Hanks. I knew I wanted to do something different and the baseball card was a perfect fit for A League of Their Own.Board Buzz: Must-read threads on the Blowout Forums (March 4)

What to do with old common cards is a question and a challenge for many collectors, especially as they continue to pile up.
But for 19-year-old New York-based Blowout member Steven Verdile, aka Metsfan1121, the temptation to simply throw them away was thwarted when the graphic design student received an assignment in a 3D class earlier this year.
"We had to take items that we already had and aren't typically used for art, and use them to create a 3D piece," he wrote on a post on the forum. "I quickly thought about using my cards, and came up with an idea. I decided to make a baseball field, along with bleachers and a dugout, out of cards."

They're two distinctly different styles of art probably catering to different types of sports fans, but you should have no doubts about one thing -- the works of S. Preston are the work of a sports fan.
"I won piano competitions, art competitions and mathematics competitions, but that didn't matter because all I wanted to do was be in sports," he writes on his website. "But as we all know too well, the dream of being a professional athlete is not for everyone, including me."
Working with a broadcasting team led to a lot of time in stadiums and one day an old doodle led to an idea of drawing stadiums in the simplest ways possible -- but noting the details sports fans can Identify with. "Minimalist Ballparks" was born. On the other end of the spectrum are his hand-penciled "Baseball Princesses" sketches of iconic characters little girls love with a simple twist and the simple idea that "girls can be baseball fans, too."
