San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo was one of two guys to top the 400-yard plateau this week and his came as part of a four-TD day and ended with a 36-26 win over the Arizona Cardinals. To say that the hype was there when he came to this team would be an understatement and I'm not sure how much drum-pounding there might be now compared to then but his 424 yards on 34-of-45 passing is a career-high. His four TDs also tied his career-high mark set just two weeks ago. For the year, he's at 2,478 passing yards and 18 TDs -- easily career-highs -- so there should be people looking, especially with his team 9-1.
His Rookie Cards and first autos can be found way back in 2014 packs when he was a second-round pick of the Patriots.

Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry once again proved to be a workhorse -- and still an overlooked one at that on cardboard -- as he had 23 carries for 188 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-32 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. No other RB topped 120 yards this week and only one other had more than two TDs -- you'll see the other here later on the list.
This was just his second 100-yard game of the year but he's got eight TDs this season. This 2016 rookie and and former Heisman winner moved into fifth place on the Titans' career TD list on Sunday by upping his total to 30, trailing only Steve McNair (36), Chris Johnson (50), Eddie George (64) and Hall of Famer Earl Campbell (73). The yardage mark was not a career-high as he posted a ridiculous 238-yard game last season.

Another big week for one of the NFL's big names? It shouldn't be a surprise ...
Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson put on a show with five TDs in a 40-34 win over the Bucs but his 378 yards weren't enough to lead the NFL this week (that was Matthew Stafford's claim to fame in a loss). Two of those TDs and 152 yards went to Tyler Lockett and rookie DK Metcalf had six catches for 123 and a TD. He's easily on pace for a career year as he leads the league in TDs and is on pace for a career yardage mark, too. For his career he's comparing very well -- he's on par with Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Jim Kelly and Fran Tarkenton, who are all Hall of Famers or locks for Canton, at this point.
Wilson's autograph has never been much to look at with an "RC" of sorts being all it is, but collectors don't care and shouldn't as his 2012 Rookie Cards and autos should have "big" status and should continue that way. There could be more fluctuations and gains to be made with his WRs but Wilson is the easy long-term grab if you thin about how big-name QB cards have gone in the 2000s.

Started strong, ended with the win.
Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp put on a show in the first half of things on Sunday against the Bengals but settled down after that in a 24-10 win. Ultimately the only numbers that matter are the final ones -- seven catches for 220 yards and a TD. At the half, he looked like he might be pushing the NFL's single-game receiving record but Kupp didn't even come close to the team record, either, as both are 336 yards set by Willie "Flipper" Anderson with 336 yards back in 1989.
Kupp is among the loaded 2017 rookie crop so chasing him in wax form might not be that easy now but there's a chance he's tucked away in boxes where people landed the other guys and let the rest sit. An injury prevented him from Super Bowl time last year but he's averaging 99 yards a game this season and could set career-highs for TDs and yardage with a solid showing in his next game.

There were no holes in his game.
That's a cheesehead joke so don't take it too literal -- even though it's true -- Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers had a day during a 42-24 win over the Raiders. How big? He had a part in every TD scored for his team on Sunday, completing 25 of 31 passes for 429 yards and five TDs -- and he added two carries for six yards and one more score, too. All of his passing TDs went to different receivers and he also made a mark in the overall record book as he reached 350 TDs in just his 172nd game.
That's the fastest pace in NFL history as Drew Brees had held that pace record at 180 games. The prices of Rodgers' early cardboard should make it obvious in some instances that he's easily among the all-time greats statistically -- though there are some bargains to be found with his 2005 Rookie Cards. He sits at ninth on the career passing TD list at 351 but with five other active guys ahead of him (also a sign that NFL offenses have changed in recent years). Fun unrelated QB fact: Did you know Tom Brady is just 12 TDs shy of tying the NFL record? So, watch for that this season -- and you need to watch all of the cards for guys at the top of this list. Cheaper early Rodgers cards are worth picking up.

Call it a week for the recent rookies.
NFL Week 6 didn't have a lot of flashy games for collectors early on if you ask me, but New York Jets QB Sam Darnold returned for just his second game of the year and helped knock off the Dallas Cowboys 24-22 to give it some spark. He completed 23 of 32 passes for 338 yards with two TDs and a pick in the game, which had to have helped spark some life into his Rookie Cards from last year's boxes -- he's in everything then -- as the only attention they had been getting was for mono/spleen jokes.

Remember me?
Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones has had some flashes of brilliance at times since his rookie campaign back in 2017 but even his best games were nothing compared to what he did on Sunday against the Cowboys. Jones had 19 carries for 107 yards and four -- yes, four -- TDs in a 34-24 win in Dallas.
Only five RBs in NFL history put up a better scoring day on the ground than Jones, while four has been done many, many times in league history. This wasn't a career day for Jones for yardage -- not even his best game this season there -- but it's one that should get more collectors looking at his cards as they've been overshadowed by the RCs of two new classes since he showed up. He didn't have a boatload of autograph cards as a rookie (less than 100) and doesn't have a lot of cards in general now but you can find him.

Reminder: There were two big Browns rookies last year ...
Cleveland RB Nick Chubb had a day and his 88-yard TD run was a big, big highlight against the old Cleveland Browns for the new Cleveland Browns as they beat the Baltimore Ravens 40-25. Chubb had 20 carries for 165 yards and three TDs in the game and added three catches for 18 in the win. There's no doubt that QB Baker Mayfield was the top Browns rookie on cardboard last year -- and probably still is this year -- but this was Chubb's first 100-yard game of the year but was not a career-high. He had a 176-yard outing last year -- one of four 100-yard games -- but his three TDs this week was a career-high mark.
All that said, Chubb's Rookie Cards and autos from 2018 releases look like safe buys on the lower side -- especially if you can find some bargain prices -- as long as the team delivers on its potential and improves upon last year. His pricier stuff still won't be Mayfield-priced so there's definitely some upside there if the team delivers. Seriously, have you watched this run?

New Giants QB Daniel Jones was a guy who got the headlines after Sunday's action as he took over for two-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer (yep, I said it) Eli Manning and delivered pretty well. How well? He completed 23 of 36 passes for 336 yards and a pair of TDs ... and also had four carries for 28 yards and two more TDs in a 32-31 win over the Bucs. Only four QBs threw for more yards this week and four TDs appears to be tied for the best mark of the week. However, it's the W in New York that gets him the spotlight for that team, especially in a game largely without Saquon Barkley who now may be dealing with injuries in his sophomore season. Jones' RCs from this year's releases should be getting even more attention now -- and they were already being watched after he was drafted sixth-overall out of Duke.

What sophomore slump?
Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes II might have started a little slow Sunday against the Raiders but the final stats for the Kansas City Chiefs QB are the best in the league this week -- by far -- showing us that there might still be some extra potential in his already pricey cardboard to come this season. His second game of his second season as starter included a 30-for-44 day passing which was good for 443 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-10 win. The next-closest QB for yardage? No. 1 pick Kyler Murray at 349 -- and he didn't even have a touchdown. No other QBs had four TDs, while a few had three -- and you may just see some of them here.
Mahomes' Rookie Cards and first autos are a key inclusion in 2017 NFL boxes. You could easily have Chiefs WR Demarcus Robinson on this list as well -- he had six catches for 172 yards and two TDs -- but we'll limit this one to one player per team and remind you that Robinson's RCs are in 2016 boxes.

There was no crying playing against the Dolphins -- it was a laugher.
Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson, WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and RB Mark Ingram lit things up against Miami and all could be seeing some interesting cardboard gains after a Ravens record-setting 59-10 rout to open the season. It was the highest-scoring mark in the league since 2012, despite all of the crazy offensive teams of the last few years.
Jackson's Rookie Cards are found in last year's releases, while Brown is a 2019 rookie and Ingram's arrival came back in 2011. Their stats? Jackson completed 17 of 20 passes for 324 yards and five TDs and didn't have much time to run. Brown had just four catches but ended with 147 yards and a pair of scores, while Ingram, had 14 carries but 107 yard and two TDs in the win. All are strong numbers, albeit against a team that looks to be headed for worst in the league dishonors. Jackson will probably remain the go-to of this trio with his late-season highlights last year paving the way for even more hype now. Brown might be the go-to new-pull guy but could have up and down games as plenty of new cards drop. Ingram also could have some ups and downs but he's got plenty of cardboard to choose from -- but not much in his new colors. (Yet.)

The MVP is locked down.
That could have been said months ago, but when Patrick Mahomes II joined the 50-touchdown, 5,000-yard club on Sunday against the Raiders it's a lock for the record books. That's an exclusive stat combo that just one other player has done in NFL history -- Peyton Manning when he set the single-season record for both stats in 2013. Mahomes came up five TDs short of tying the record and his yardage mark was the eighth best in history behind campaigns from Manning, Brees (four times), Tom Brady and Ben Roethlisberger. Every one of those QBs was in their 30s when those dominating years happened, meanwhile Mahomes is just 22 years old.
His Rookie Cards and autographs can be found throughout 2017 NFL and draft pick products -- he's got more than 2,500 different cards so far and close to 1,000 different autographed cards. Nearly all of them are from Panini America, though he does also have ink from Leaf Trading Cards and SAGE. >> Check out his autos on eBay There's no doubt that this is peak Mahomes right now ... but could there be more upward momentum before we see a dip? When might that dip happen? Nobody knows and we're probably all wondering ... and that's why his cardboard keeps on selling.

"It's like déjà vu all over again" was a Yogi Berra saying, but it might be heard in Philly right now, too.
Philadelphia Eagles QB Nick Foles returned to Super Bowl form in place of an injured Carson Wentz again on Sunday and put up a league-leading 471-yard, four-TD game against the Houston Texans, winning 32-30.
Foles' Rookie Cards and first autos can be found way back in 2012 boxes (click here to search for his autos on eBay) and he's got a relatively modest number of autographed cards for a modern veteran -- fewer than 900 -- that could add to the chase if the defending Super Bowl champs pull things together and have another run at it with this guy leading the way.

The record-breaker had another big game.
Tennessee Titans RB Derrick Henry followed his franchise-record day last week with a league-leading effort this time around in a 17-0 win over the Giants. He had 33 carries for 170-yards and two touchdowns -- all league-highs this week. No other RB even got to the 150-yard mark (or had 30 carries), while six other players hit the end zone twice.
Henry's Rookie Cards and debut autos can be found in packs among the loaded rookie crop of 2016 (click here to see his autos on eBay) and they're probably still warm from last week's out-of-nowhere game. He'll continue to be watched the rest of the way this year.

Seven catches for 210 yards and a score ... at halftime.
That was the latest stat line for San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle, whose Rookie Cards and first autos can be found in a few releases last year. This year, he's been a scorcher and that stat line -- it unfortunately didn't change after halftime -- was nearly the best day in NFL history for a tight end. (He needed five to pass Shannon Sharpe.)
He's got nearly 60 different autos but only seven Rookie Cards among his more than 150 made since his cardboard debut. He can be found in Absolute, Elite, Limited, Contenders, National Treasures and Phoenix. Next week, he'll probably join the 1,000-yard club.
Denver Broncos rookie RB Phillip Lindsay had a day Sunday against the Bengals with 19 carries for 157 yards and two TDs in a 24-10 win. That upped him to 937 rushing yards and eight TDs for the year -- not bad for an undrafted former University of Colorado star. His first Broncos autos are still on the way -- 2018 Panini Contenders is one possible debut that has been teased -- while he has has just 29 autographed cards -- all in his college threads -- found only in Panini America's Elite Draft and Contenders Draft Picks as well as three cards in Leaf Draft. >> Check out his autos on eBay

Did the Cleveland Browns arrive on Sunday?
That seems like a possibility as they knocked off the Atlanta Falcons 28-16 with a dominating day from rookie running back Nick Chubb who was one of the team's biggest stars on Sunday. His biggest highlight was a 92-yard touchdown run that set a new franchise record and was the second-longest TD run by a rookie in NFL history behind a 97-yarder from Pittsburgh's Bobby Gage back in 1949. He had 176 of the 211 rushing yards for the Browns and he also added three catches for 33 yards and a touchdown. This is the fourth straight week where he's had 18 or more carries and it's his second 100-yard game of his career.
When it comes to cardboard, Chubb's Rookie Cards are still probably overshadowed by fellow rookie Baker Mayfield, but continued performances like this one could give them a run for their money. Both have a heavy presence in this year's boxes with Chubb already appearing on more than 1,200 different cards -- and nearly 800 of those are certified ink. >>> See his autograph cards here

It's no surprise to see a New Orleans Saints player with a gaudy stat line but this time it's a dominating game from a guy who's been a dominator all year.
Saints WR Michael Thomas dialed up a big night in a win over the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Rams with 12 catches for 211 yards and a touchdown that included a "call"afterward. (That was likely to the league office to see how big his fine would be for using a prop on the field, especially if it wasn't the league-approved brand of phone he had hidden under the goalpost.)
This former Ohio State star is all over cardboard with more than 2,500 different cards since his arrival in 2016 NFL boxes and he's got more than 800 different autographed cards for fans to chase, too. >> Check out his autos on eBay The game was his biggest of the year and just his third 100-yard game Despite that, he's fourth in the NFL with 880 yards this season and is second in receptions. With a lot of toys in the Drew Brees-led arsenal, Thomas might be overlooked on his own team to a degree when it comes to cardboard but he shouldn't be.

It was The Week of the Running Back if you ask me.
Pittsburgh's James Conner was one of eight RBs with 95 rushing yards or more this week -- seven topped the century mark -- and this former Pitt star had 24 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-18 drubbing of the Cleveland Browns. He also added five catches for 66 yards, helping collectors and fans really wonder what might happen when (if?) Le'Veon Bell walks through that door. Conner's Rookie Cards and debut ink from last season look even more appealing, though the whole Bell thing does hold back potential a bit (for now). There's some risk picking up his cardboard but there could be rewards if you're selective and he locks in as the Steelers' future guy and continues to play well.

Broken-record play equals another broken NFL record.
Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes II did it again and put up another scorcher on Sunday night as his Chiefs demolished the Bengals 45-10. Mahomes set a new record with 22 touchdowns in his first eight games as he completed 28 of 39 passes for 358 yards and four touchdowns.
As for his cardboard, his Rookie Cards and autos from last season will continue to be in demand as he's on a serious MVP push with a team that's looking dominating -- a new face that the NFL might need right now.

Want a relatively cheap and out-of-nowhere pick-up tip? Those perhaps aren't as easily done with football but one presented itself on Sunday.
It's Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson.
He had six catches for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns against the Bears on Sunday and that yardage total was tops in the NFL this week. It was the best game of his career that began as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs in 2014. He has cards in just three sets that first year -- Crown Royale, National Treasures and Contenders -- and that last one is currently a 50-point autograph over on the Panini Rewards site. (Meaning you could land three of them for the typical commonly found 150-point card.) Meanwhile, asking prices on eBay are between $15 and $25 because he's had a pretty decent season with 359 yards and four TDs. (Check out his autos on eBay here.) Also helping out? His relative lack of overall cardboard -- he's got about 70 different cards in all and he's not had any autos since two appearances back in 2015. Only about a dozen of his cards come with ink and that puts more of a focus on any he might have if collectors take notice even more.

Picking Aaron Rodgers among a group of weekly standouts could essentially happen any week but here we are.
Why? It was a week where a lot of obvious stars did what they do and a week where a number of names who aren't as big on cardboard also had big days. The Green Bay Packers QB had his best game of the year yet, ironically, still lost. He completed 32 of 52 passes for 442 yards and three touchdowns. That's a bit freakish but it's still not the team record (480) which he owns a share of. He also threw three TDs in Week 1 but totaled only 286 yards.
His key cardboard -- Rookie Cards (2005) and autographs (click here to see them on eBay) -- are already pricey so this kind of a game may not make much of a difference. If you're a dedicated NFL collector, you probably have (or need) one, and if you pull one then you've captured a gem among today's stars. It may be tempting to cash in -- but it's also a safe hold for years if you ask me.

The Chicago Bears rolled to a 48-10 victory over a team that had been a bit of a surprise so far this season, the Tampa Bay Bucs, and its second-year quarterback delivered big in the win.
Mitchell Trubisky threw for just 354 yards -- eight QBs topped that this week -- but his six touchdown passes were just one short of the all-time NFL record for the most in a game. While he's obviously been on the minds of Bears fans, he's had a relatively forgettable season so far despite his team's 3-1 record. Before yesterday, his best game this season was 200 passing yards with just two TDs and two interceptions. Those were his only passing TDs of the year before the Bucs came to town. >> Check out his autos on eBay
This type of game should focus more collectors back onto the possibilities with his Rookie Cards and key autos from last season's boxes as well as those from this year. A trip to Miami is next up so we'll see whether the win streak continues with fireworks from Mr. Biscuit.

Simply put, Atlanta Falcons WR Calvin Ridley arrived on Sunday.
Sure, it was bound to be a low-defense, high-0ffense contest between the Falcons and the Saints but what was surprising was that this first-round pick out of Alabama was the go-to guy for Matt Ryan (374 yards, 5 TDs) seemingly all day long. He caught seven of eight passes that came his way for 146 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-37 overtime loss. Only one WR had a better week when it comes to yardage and nobody else had three TDs receiving or rushing. It wasn't a total surprise as he found the end zone last week -- but he had a completely silent debut in Week 1 that could have quieted some of the hype. >> Check out Calvin Ridley autos on eBay
Falcons fans have been used to a different receiver formerly of the Crimson Tide getting the job done in Julio Jones but Sunday's game from Ridley showed that there could be some amazing things to come this season and beyond -- both together or solo.
