You should already know all about Pat Mahomes II after the highlight reels from Sunday, but if not ...
The Kansas City Chiefs QB completed 23 of 28 passes for 326 yards and six touchdowns in a 42-37 shootout with the Steelers on Sunday and his season TD total of 10 is a new NFL record for the first two games of a season. His Rookie Cards and autographs can be found throughout 2017 NFL and draft pick products -- he's got nearly 2,100 different cards so far. He's also got close to 1,000 different memorabilia cards and his autographs are pushing 900 different cards with nearly all of them from Panini America, though he does also have ink from Leaf Trading Cards and SAGE. He's clearly the new "it" guy for the league and collectors in this young season.

There were a few surprises in Week 1 of the NFL season but some of those simply aren't in spots that will affect cardboard all that dramatically. For example? The Buffalo Bills got spanked 47-3 and were down big at halftime, leading to the NFL debut of QB Josh Allen ... as you can see by the score, that just didn't matter. (He went 3-for-11 for 40 yards ... we'll worry about him in some future week.)
This week? There were some comebacks, some surprises due to injuries and suspensions and some highlight-reel runs that won't hurt cardboard at all.
That last one? It belonged to New York Giants rookie RB Saquon Barkley who broke off a 68-yarder for his first NFL touchdown. That came part of a 106-yard day that was all for naught as the Jacksonville Jaguars won, 20-15. Barkley also added two catches for 22 yards to help him stay on the radar of many collectors, though, and highlight-reel moments probably matter more than Ws when it comes to cardboard -- so that's the kind of play that works.

It's time to get your hands on some JuJu Smith-Schuster football cards

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have found their newest star at wide receiver.
He's JuJu Smith-Schuster and he racked up 193 receiving yards on just seven catches and scored a 97-yard touchdown on Sunday in a 20-15 win over Detroit.
Smith-Schuster is just 20 years old and was a second-round pick (62nd overall) out of USC. He's the youngest Steelers player to ever put up a 100-yard game and teammate Le'Veon Bell told ESPN.com that he's "best player ever under 21" and that "for him to be 20 and play the way he plays is unbelievable. He can block, catch the ball short, go balls, mentally in the game, best player ever under 21."
Aaron Jones, O.J. Howard & Eddie Jackson grab Sunday spotlight

With Leonard Fournette out due to injury, Deshaun Watson on a bye week and Kareem Hunt on Thursday night, yesterday's NFL action was a stage primed for a new rookie arrival or two.
And three did.
Green Bay Packers RB Aaron Jones put up his best game of the season on Sunday with 17 carries for 131 yards and a touchdown while the spotlight was on QB Brett Hundley playing in place of Aaron Rodgers. Jones also caught three passes for seven yards. This fifth-rounder out of UTEP actually had a 125-yard game in Week 5 and a score in that game, too, but that was all lost in the glow of Rodgers' fourth-quarter comeback win-sealing TD against the Cowboys.
Jones appears on fewer than 100 different football cards so far in 2017 releases and has a modest number of autographs that are only found in Absolute, Certified Cuts, Leaf Draft, Gold Standard and Unparalleled. That sounds like a lot, but in reality it's nine cards in Unparalleled and no more than five (and mostly three) in others. That's not a lot when he's in the spotlight. (Update: He's also in Prizm, which arrives this week.)
Postseason Superstars: This week's icons include Antonio Brown, Aaron Rodgers & more ... and who's next?

Five catches, 124 years and two touchdowns.
That's the final line for Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown in Sunday's 30-12 victory over the Miami Dolphins in their playoff-opening game. At this point, it's the kind of showing that we expect from one of the league's elite who had 106 catches for 1,284 yards and 12 TDs this season.
His 2010 Rookie Cards show him fresh out of Central Michigan and can be found in more than 20 brands that season, including Absolute Memorabilia, Bowman Sterling, Certified, Classics, Crown Royale, Donruss Elite, Epix, Exquisite Collection, Limited, Gridiron Gear, Plates & Patches, Threads, Contenders, National Treasures, Prestige, Rookies & Stars, SP Authentic, SPx, Score and Sweet Spot. You can expect to pay top dollar for anything of him that's relatively rare and his auto RCs (Exquisite, Plates & Patches, Contenders, National Treasures, SPA and SPx) will be even more volatile and in-demand. It just comes with the territory.

Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi racked up 214 rushing yards on 28 carries Sunday against Buffalo to walk his way into some elite NFL company.
He became just the fourth player in the history of the league to rush for 200 yards in back-to-back games. The others? O.J. Simpson, Earl Campbell and Ricky Williams. Not bad company for the former Boise State star who's in his second season after being a fifth-round draft pick last year.
His cards are relatively available with more than 1,500 different cards made since last year and more than 750 of those being certified autographs. He has 40 Rookie Cards in a number of brands from Panini America and Topps last year.

While there might be a quarterback controversy brewing in The Big D, there's no doubting who the top RB is for the Dallas Cowboys after a 30-17 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
It's Ezekiel Elliott and his 134-yard, two-touchdown day has cemented him as one of the front-runners among rookies this season -- on a historic level, too.
According to Elias, his 546 rushing yards this season are the fifth-best total in NFL history for the first five games of a player's career. The only better starts are Eric Dickerson (645 yards), Adrian Peterson (607), Todd Gurley (575) and Billy Sims (560). That's not bad company -- and that's good news for Elliott's cardboard given how Gurley looked last year.

The Atlanta Falcons' 48-33 win over the reigning NFC champs on Sunday had plenty of offensive fireworks, but two players stood above the rest. Matt Ryan's 503 passing yards and
four TDs were impressive but what was even more impressive is that Julio Jones was responsible for 300 of them.
Jones' 12-catch day came 37 yards short of setting an NFL record for most receiving yards in a game with his 300 being the sixth-best game in league history. Willie "Flipper" Anderson set the mark with 336 in a game against the Saints back in 1989.
Not a bad day ... especially for a guy who hasn't signed a heavy amount of autographs in his six years as a pro.

Six catches, 205 yards and two touchdowns. That was the stat line for Detroit Lions receiver Marvin Jones Jr. on Sunday during a 34-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
How good was that career night? As a rookie with the Bengals in 2012, it took him 11 games and 18 catches to total 201 yards -- and he only had one touchdown back then. Even last season he had just 816 yards receiving on 65 catches. (Welcome to Detroit.)
Seemingly out of nowhere, he has back-to-back 100-yard games -- that should be good for his cardboard, which is pretty plentiful from that rookie season.

The end result was the same old, same old for the Cleveland Browns, but how they got there wasn't the same.
The quarterback looked good in the first half, the running game looked decent and rookie Corey Coleman made it look impressive early on. The rookie out of Baylor had only five catches, but they went for 104 yards and two touchdowns before the Browns browned as usual. Last week Coleman had just two catches but one was for 58 yards as part of a 69-yard day so we have seen so far that this former Baylor standout will be a receiver to watch this year when it comes to big plays that translate into big attention on cardboard.

Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders appear to be a bit more powerful this season with an offensive attack that can spar with the best of them.
You know, like Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints.
The Raiders marched down the field late in the fourth to take a lead and survive 35-34 thanks to a missed field goal form the Saints, but Carr's 24-for-38 day with 319 yards passing and a touchdown -- as well as Amari Cooper's six-catch 137-yard day -- should give collectors hope. Some lesser-known names got the scores on Sunday (Perhaps Panini Instant will be the first home for a Jalen Richard Rookie Card after his first carry went for a 75-yard TD?) but these two collector favorites will likely get the attention if this is the Raiders' year to rebound well.
