Champions League fans get Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition

A new option for Chrome soccer fans is here ... and there's a new big name to chase within this one.

Topps released 2019-20 Topps Chrome UEFA Champions League Sapphire Edition boxes today on Topps.com for 582 Montgomery Club members initially at $80 apiece (limit two) and that's the starting point for a box that could spark global demand.

Why? It's a first for the company's popular Chrome soccer releases -- and the boxes include a Sapphire take on the card of FC Barcelona and Spain national team star Ansu Fati. His regular Chrome cards -- no autographs -- have been scorchers on eBay and now, there will be Sapphire cards and parallels for fans around the world to chase.

Each box of Sapphire includes 32 cards -- 30 cards and two parallels -- from the set with the parallel rundown including Yellow (/99), Green (/75), Orange (/50), Purple (/25) Red (/5) and 1/1 Padparadscha cards. There also will be five variation cards to chase and you can see it all in the checklist below.

The standard release's base set is small -- just 100 cards -- so that could make these a little easier spot to land the big one -- and Fati won't be alone as other notables are, of course, included.

Topps will offer the boxes to the public once its Montgomery Club allotment is completed.
