Check those Bowman Draft card backs ... for some weird facts

Have you looked at your 2019 Bowman Draft card backs yet?

It's fine if you haven't -- we know you're busy looking for the new big names, their colorful Chrome parallels and, of course, their autographs -- but there's always one part of this Bowman release that can surprise with either basic stuff one might not know (since the players are new to cardboard) or some downright trivial things that mean nothing when it comes to the field of play.

It's those "Up Close" blurbs that are worth a look.

The card of top pick Adley Rutschman actually has one of the simpler and more straight-forward items on his card. He's not one of those cards who drops references to Fortnite, Taylor Swift, Coke vs. Pepsi, Chick-Fil-A, Game of Thrones or even an interest in nuclear engineering. One card even notes a top prospect who had a specific walk-up song at age 10 ... what were you doing at that age?

Let's take a look at the backs of some 2019 Bowman Draft baseball cards ...

Adley Rutschman (Card No. 1) -- Nicknamed "Clutchman" by his Oregon State teammates. Not the flashiest fact for the No. 1 overall pick ... but, don't worry, it gets a lot weirder in this set.

Jordyn Adams (Card No. 158) -- He's a Friday Night Lights fan (the movie, not the TV show), a Fortnite "enthusiast" as well as a lover of pineapples, strawberries and mangos.

Seth Beer (Card No. 192) -- His line is loaded: "Admires Ted Williams ... Cites American Sniper as his all-time favorite film ... Chick-Fil-A enthusiast .. Often took BP until 1 or 2 a.m. as a teenager."

Hudson Head (Card No. 69) -- "Loves TV show The Office."

Logan Wyatt (Card No. 29) -- He's a 6-4, 230-pound first baseman who "likes Snickers candy bars and Life cereal" as well as a fan of Mookie Betts, Breaking Bad and Pulp Fiction. 

Nolan Gorman (Card No. 42) -- He's a Derek Jeter fan who enjoys golf and "started using 'Boom' by P.O.D. as walk-up song at age 10. (Gotta ask ... what was your walk-up song at that age?)

Evan Fitterer (Card No. 698) -- "Nicknamed FitBit ... Ate breakfast burritos before every prep game."

Grayson Rodriguez (Card No. 121) -- When he's not watching Impractical Jokers, he's often found cooking some venison spaghetti or watching college football.

Tyler Fitzgerald (Card No. 152) -- A fan of The Sandlot and Moneyball.

Joey Bart (Card No. 134) -- "Made only one major purchase after signing -- a 2004 Chevy Tahoe."

Sean Hjelle (Card No. 159) -- Nickname is "Jelly" and will be tied for the tallest pitcher in MLB history if he makes it -- he's 6-foot-11.

Armani Smith (Card No. 157) -- "Mani" is his nickname and he's a fan of Drake, Future and Lil Uzi Vert.

Michael Toglia (Card No. 64) -- This fan of Mike Trout, Derek Jeter and Bo Jackson "enjoys skiing and solving brain-teasers."

Vince Fernandez (Card No. 137) -- The Sandlot and Act of Valor are the top movies for this avid reader.

Isiah Gilliam (Card No. 146) -- No meaningless trivia here ... he's the grandson of former Brooklyn Dodgers All-Star and Rookie of the Year Jim Gilliam.

Hayden Wesneski (Card No. 177) -- He only eats his steak medium-rare and is a fan of Pepsi over Coke.

Josh Smith (Card No. 86) -- He's a Game of Thones fan.

J.J. Bleday (Card No. 150) -- This Mumford & Sons fan also likes The Office and Robinson Cano.

Tim Tebow (Card No. 92) -- He's a Braveheart fan and the author of the book This Is The Day.

Brock Deathrage (Card No. 5) -- "Won Twitter poll for best name among Detroit farmhands" and is a Chipper Jones fan.

Andre Lipcius (Card No. 108) -- Has a twin brother named Luc and he majored in nuclear engineering in college.

Ryan Jensen (Card No. 91) -- "Enjoys cooking and watching Food Network."

Justin Slaten (Card No. 24) -- "Fan of TV series Game of Thrones."

Michael Busch (Card No. 57) -- "Taylor Swift fan."

Connor Capel (Card No. 110) -- His dad, Mike, played for the Cubs, Brewers and Astros -- and he's the godson of Roger Clemens.

Grant Gambrell (Card No. 138) -- "Likes America's Got Talent."

Logan Davidson (Card No. 10) -- He "grew up on 50-acre farm" and his dad played for the Twins.

Ethan Small (Card No. 28) -- Another Game of Thrones fan in this set.

Brice Turang (Card No. 130) -- His dad, Brian, played for the Mariners and he uses "The Real Slim Shady" as his walk-up music.

Eric Yang (Card No. 118) -- "Enjoys snowboarding and surfing ... Calls Step Brothers his favorite movie ... Likes to read ... Hip-hop music fan ... Follows mixed-martial arts."

Grae Kessinger (Card No. 145) -- He's the grandson of former MLB All-Star Don Kessinger.

Royce Lewis (Card No. 46) -- "Avid reader who devours books on leadership ... Son of a restauranteur ... Didn't open his first social media account until after he was drafted."

Drew Waters (Card No. 25) -- "Knows every restaurant order of his best friend, Cristian Pache."
