Could Ace Authentic tennis mystery packs serve up big stuff?

Ace Authentic's run as a pro tennis card creator included some of the biggest names in the game signing on and a number of appearances on memorabilia cards that are still among the only options out there for fans of the action on the court.

Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Rafael Nadal, Anna Kournikova, Andy Roddick, Jennifer Capriati, Andre Agassi and Billie Jean King are just some of the notables who signed for the company during its run before Leaf purchased its assets and intellectual property back in December 2012.

A new (old) arrival in the BlowoutCards store on Friday sparked some interest as, well, there aren't a lot of tennis options to be found out there in the world right now -- these are actually the only tennis option on the site. And, as a result of there being no new stuff on the market, some cards have had some crazy sales recently over on eBay. There's also an element of mystery here, too, as you might guess from the visuals above.

A number of Ace Authentic auto/mem bonus packs are up for grabs as singles or lots at that link -- all that's known (without ripping into a bunch of 'em) is that there are likely two hits per pack here. But even that isn't a 100-percent certainty with these two-card packs. There will be autographs, there will be memorabilia cards. Some numbered, some not. Will they be loaded with cards like the two above? Probably not, but I grabbed these two images off eBay to give you an idea of how well top tennis cards are looking right now as there's very little out there for the sport in comparison to others -- despite its stars having global appeal.

The asking price on that Maria Sharapova card? A cool $652.43 Buy-It-Now (or best offer), while the Rafael Nadal card appears to have sold for $2,400. Believe it or not, those might not be the craziest cardboard out there from past Ace Authentic releases. Novak Djokovic cards are scorchers across the board, too, and, well, this is a pretty impressive sale price for a memorabilia card. There might be even bigger cards out there with asking prices -- you know, That Federer Guy. (Djokovic wins on actual sales, though.)

I'm sure the true rarities and big-dollar stars won't be easy finds here (or might not have made it at all ... it's all a mystery) as Ace Authentic had deep autograph and memorabilia checklists but ... what if? With single packs and 10-pack lots up for grabs and a hot tennis market, Buzz will likely try them out at some point soon -- I bit on a few affordable tennis boxes back in the day.

Well, that's if they last. After all, everybody -- not just tennis fans -- loves a mystery.
