Dan Haren's charity bobblehead auctions are big hit on eBay

Former pitcher Dan Haren pitched 13 seasons in the big leagues for the Cardinals, A's Diamondbacks, Angels, Nationals, Dodgers, Marlins and Cubs and when you work your way around the majors that much you tend to pick up some things.

Among them? Bobbleheads ... and he's selling them to raise money for charities.

These stadium-giveaway items can be hot commodities at times -- and many times they are not -- but your saved eBay searches today might reveal some bobbles with big-league dollar signs attached to them because The Haren Collection pieces come with a little extra item that's making a big difference during a time where there are big problems out there.

Haren has added a comical signed note with every bobblehead telling a basic fact or some trivia about the player on the bobblehead. For example, his Hank Aaron story seen here? Well, it's a sad one for a collector.

"Saw him one, got his autograph and I lost the ball," Haren wrote along with a sad face and his autograph.

He apparently owns a lot more than the couple dozen bobbles presently on eBay -- more than 300 according to SI.com -- and Haren said in this tweet they're all going to end up going out to collectors.

Prices are pretty hot, too, with a Vladimir Guerrero bobble presently leading the way at $380 after 45 bids. Meanwhile, the cheapest (for now) is a Jason Kendall that includes one of the funnier messages of the bunch.
