eBay Buzz: Chronicles brings heat, some big Ben Baller ink, Fixer Upper special & Alabama's next big QB already on cards

LIFE AFTER TUA 
The Item: Bryce Young 2020 Leaf Metal All-American patch auto (/12)
The Price: $695 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Alabama Crimson Tide's season began this weekend and the freshman QB that has plenty of expectations in a world after Tua Tagovailoa got some playing time as part of a big win. He's not the starter and didn't light things up in his first taste of the field that counts, but that doesn't matter when it comes to the demand for his cardboard in this prep All-American set. He appears on more than 60 different cards in the release with many of them low-volume creations and he's easily among the priciest cards of players in the set so far (hit that link below). The release is largely a hits-driven affair so the box prices are pretty strong and there is risk with a deep, deep checklist but notables like this guy are big deals when you find them. This is pretty much the only way to prospect football until players' NFL cards arrive so once players are bonafide big names in college there is only one place to look ... these cards.

The Item: Luis Robert 2020 Panini Chronicles Spectra Prospect Jersey Autographs Neon Blue (/99)

Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This brand is always a fun one with the variety that the boxes include being seemingly un-toppable. One of the brands inside this one this year -- one that includes on-card autos on memorabilia cards for both rookies and prospects -- is Spectra and I'll admit that this one made my list here because I'm a bit of a sucker for the seemingly blue-sequin texture of these cards seen on this parallel.They're weird but they're pretty sweet in person. There's a lot more beyond this to be found ... I'd suggest you go explore.

BALLIN' ...
The Item: Ronald Acuña Jr. 2020 Topps Chrome Ben Baller Edition Orange Refractor auto (/25)
The Price: $202.50 after five bids (six days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: First off, did you see what the Luis Robert Superfractor sold for from this one? (Click here, I'll wait.) This card isn't quite as perfect as the standard versions we have seen all year -- that Baller bling put onto this card covers the hand gesture that makes this one a classic. These boxes were initially offered online first at a premium price over standard Chrome despite there being no autos guaranteed. The volume of big ink out there on eBay and being bragged about on Twitter is pretty impressive and big names will be watched closely whether it's this guy, Mike Trout or others being found -- and perhaps even more now that we have hit the postseason. There are Superfractor autos to be found, too.

MIGHT PAY FOR SOME FIXING ...
The Item: Joanna & Chip Gaines 2020 Topps Allen & Ginter red-ink dual-auto card (/10)
The Price: $2,499.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: They are the hosts of the show Fixer Upper and they're among a number of non-baseball inclusions in this year's edition of the hobby's most-eclectic release. This is the rarer red-ink version of their dual auto -- you can find blue-ink versions for far less (around $500) for their dual and his solo auto is even more affordable. She didn't sign cards alone. Their home design and renovation show aired on HGTV but is headed to a new home next year on the Magnolia Network -- so there could be more interest to come for these cards. I'm not sure this price will get hit but there's a lot of mainstream non-collector interest here already. Once these dry up -- non-sports figures typically sign around 200 cards for solo cards though nothing was announced this time -- the prices could rise, too.
