FREAKISHLY PRICED ... BUT THEY SELL
The Item: Giannis Antetokounmpo 2013-14 Panini Prizm Purple Die-cut Prizms (34/49)
The Price: $39,999.95 Buy-It-Now 
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Believe it or not, this is not even close to the priciest eBay auction for the new NBA MVP and his first-year rarities. Why is this one so steep? It's rare and it's a one-of-a-kind card within a print run of 49 copies -- it's No. 34, his uniform number. A total of 41 active eBay auctions have asking prices of $10,000 or more for a Giannis card. The highest? A mere $189,999 -- see the link below for what that is. Are people buying? Hit the completeds -- the answer is yes. Nothing has hit the $100,000 mark but they are getting close -- and those were back in April and May ... pre-MVP. It's enough to make you shake your head ... and then admire the market ... and then buy a box or case to rip.

ICONIC AUTOGRAPHS, ANYONE?
The Item: Pamela Anderson 2011 Leaf Pop Century Pamela Anderson Auto Autograph (/5)
The Price: $175 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Her name was trending on Twitter today for some new personal drama that I spent about seven seconds trying to decipher before giving up (more important trending trivialities were awaiting) but that did get me pondering some of the more iconic autographs from pop culture in the last 30 years. I think she'd make most lists. She's appeared on a number of trading cards though the years -- even the hit Baywatch and the bomb Barb Wire had card sets back in the day -- and she's appeared on more than 100 different certified autographs though the years since appearing in 2010 Donruss Elite Extra Edition as a Pepperdine baseball fan. On the non-sports side, she's had a few appearances in Pop Century, Canadiana and Americana releases. The Pop Century volume is by far the largest for brands, but most of the cards there are low-volume like this one. Generally speaking her ink remains surprisingly pricey -- and I don't think I'd go the signed photo route as her ink, while somewhat distinct, could be (and I'm sure it has been) faked.

BREWER-BLUE PARALLEL 
The Item: Christian Yelich 2010 Bowman Draft Blue Refractor autograph (/150) PSA 10
The Price: $2,247.22 after 25 bids (one day remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: First, let me acknowledge that this might be a good-quality auto of what's at best a bowling-shoe-ugly signature but it's apparent based on what people keep buying for any player in any league that simply doesn't matter if they deliver. The MLB leader in home runs is on pace for a monster year and his team is in the hunt so there's plenty of interest here. The tough part? Finding boxes of this one -- and it's not like the odds are easy for Blue Refractor ink. It will be interesting to see how this one ends. Asking prices for other Blues are substantially higher via Buy-It-Now.

WHO'S YOUR VLADDY?
The Item: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2019 Topps Series 2 SP Rookie Card -- lot of 20
The Price: $599.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card is an SP -- not super rare but also not in every box -- but no matter what they might be going for right now (to be honest I have not looked) it's going to always be an iconic one. Sure, he has plenty of cardboard thanks to prospect sets and real-time releases like Topps Now and other online-first releases, but this ones his first Topps baseball card found in packs with an RC logo. (I'll let some of you argue about whether it's a true RC. I'm calling it as being just that.) I, myself, might be more likely to just grab a factory set to get a different variation of this card vs. chasing it but right now this is the only option and this lot seemed like an interesting enough one to shine the light on in the right here, right now. In a year or two, this could be a listing that wows us all -- good or bad. There are a number of active lots for this one and a lot of 10 recently sold for $375 on the high side and a low of $117 (with a bad photo in listing). Meanwhile, they're not even slabbed ... yet. That will add to the pricing and supply-demand variables here.

BUT, IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET ...
The Item: Peter Alonso 2019 Topps Stadium Club autograph  
The Price: $299.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This release formally arrives tomorrow and there's no doubt that Alonso will be a top auto in big demand out of this one after his already record-setting season for the New York Mets. Should that price be hit? I doubt it, but doing big things in The Big Apple can easily lead to big demand for cards. I've seen plenty of lesser autos come out of past Stadium Club boxes (mostly mine!) so ink of a guy playing well like Alonso will be jumped on. It's just a matter of how soon and for how much.
