eBay Buzz: Hank Aaron ink, Topps Heritage, Prizm NBA & more

LIMITED & LEGENDARY
The Item: Hank Aaron 2021 Topps Definitive Collection Defining Season autograph (/10)
The Price: $1,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The former all-time home run king was a steady low-volume signer for Topps and the high-end release that dropped today included these cards with on-card sigs and a clean, simple design that showcases the photo and ink quite well. We won't be seeing him in a lot of future releases after his death in late January but I suspect there will be some other appearances to come. (I don't think we'll be seeing any big volume of autographs on stickers to come, either, as I believe I was previously told he had stopped doing stickers due to vision issues years ago. But I could be wrong.) So far, he's got a good volume of sigs here and in Heritage -- and now is the time to grab them. Demand won't be lessened later.

PRO SET IS BACK!
The Item: Trevor Lawrence 2021 Pro Set autographs (/99)
The Price: $1,899.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Pro Set's return (for now) is a non-traditional one with the 1989 design getting a new ride as online-offered, print-to-order base cards from Leaf and then autographs that are limited and have basically been immediate sellouts. One of the autos so far has been the likely No. 1 NFL Draft pick as you see here. While I didn't price-check this one (might be low, might be high) Lawrence will have more to come ... and there will be Pro Set cards to come in packs, too, according to Leaf. So if you're sold and buying for you grab one of these ... you can also find bulk lots of Lawrence and others (no ink) at the link below. It's a solid crop of players so far and this year's draft should be strong.

POWER OF A PHOTO ... 
The Item: LeBron James 2020-21 Panini Prizm Silver Prizm parallel card
The Price: $740 after 32 bids (six days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one might be an early eBay anomaly but perhaps not. Why? LeBron on Optichrome stock is a big hit among many flippers, collectors, slabbers and returners -- and it's probably a card that fans of photography can appreciate, too. For some reason some players get A+ photo selections all the time (because they sell) while others get awkward and distant full-body photos forced into Prizm frames. I think all cards could use a Stadium Club approach in all sets ... not just those of stars who sell. That said, I like this one and I like it as an example where a great photo (no matter the player) can make a card -- and its distance is part of the point. Visual appeal is a big deal ... no matter what and it can create value and demand. This card will be popular in every color of parallel and I'd expect the base version to pay for a blaster if you pull one there. (Well, if you can find them. I probably won't be able to the way my retail routine has been looking lately. We'll see.)

GRAB THEM WHEN THEY SURFACE ...
The Item: Mike Trout 2021 Topps Heritage Real Ones red-ink auto (/72)
The Price: $1,999.99 Buy-it-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This price probably won't get hit -- but it's a big card, a rarer parallel from a release with a big print run that includes a few formats ... making these cards the needles in a big haystack. Rare cards of big names in long-running popular releases like Heritage are as safe as it gets in terms of cards to hold, slab and sell in the long-term future. Why? There will always be people collecting Heritage in varying ways and Trout ink will also be in demand later. Now is the time where they will be the most findable. Months later they won't be -- just do some searches for rarer stuff from Heritage a year or two ago ... there won't be a lot of results that pop up.
