A UNIQUE TOUCH 
The Item: Juan Soto 2019 Topps Museum Collection bat barrel nameplate 1/1
The Price: $2,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or make offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: His full name is Juan Jose Soto Pacheco and it's "Soto Pacheco" that he has chosen to put on his bats. You can get a good look at one right here (click to zoom), though the MLB Authentication sticker (albeit unreadable) should be enough to make worries lessen. This is one simple personalized touch that shows how game-used bats (and premium bat cards) can be a lot more interesting. This card is an example of the big stuff that is possible in boxes of Museum Collection, though as a 1/1 card this one is no longer potentially in a box if you grab one.

TIME TO HUNT BARGAINS?
The Item: Tua Tagovailoa 2017 Leaf U.S. Army All-American Bowl Autographs (/10)
The Price:$295.95 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I'll readily admit I don't know exactly which set this auto is from (there are a number of them made) but the point of this one is that we're past spring football and still a ways away from the college season starting -- so now is the time to be looking at the Leaf Army All-American names that could make moves this season -- if you can find them. These boxes vanish fast and there are a number of notables like this Heisman contender, Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa. He's pricey and well-established on cardboard but this example is actually far lower than others when it comes to price. Want another name to look for on a Leaf auto? Search for Trevor Lawrence. There won't be bargains to be had for most of the bigger names but you never know what you might find when others aren't necessarily looking.

JUST PUT SOME FLEX TAPE ON IT ... 
The Item: Ross Chastain race-used sheet metal quarter panel from the No. 4 Flex Seal Chevy
The Price: $145 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: You ever notice a certain commercial over and over to the point that it burns itself into your subconscious like the advertiser wants? No? Just me? Ok, that didn't really happen here but a number of those Flex Seal and Flex Tape commercials are so memorably cheese-laden that seeing one of them prompted me to look on eBay this morning. (Proof my caffeine hasn't yet kicked in, by the way.) This was one of the items that popped up and it wasn't alone as the team owner, JD Motorsports, has a deal with a seller to move sheet metal from its cars in this way. (A door number panel was $225 and a front grill panel was $299.) Chastain's Panini America cardboard can sell pretty well, too.

YOU'RE KILLING ME, SMALLS ...
The Item: Patrick Renna 2018 Topps Archives The Sandlot Silver Autograph (/99)
The Price: Sold for $199.99
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is the rare eBay Buzz item for something already sold but it's here for two reasons. First, that's a strong sale price for one of the memorable members of The Sandlot cast's autos. Second, he's among the signers at this year's National Sports Collectors Convention as a new addition to the roster. (He's planned to sign each day at noon starting at $49.) If you want "You're killing me, Smalls" added to your ink it will cost a $20 inscription fee -- but it looks like it's an option and it might be worth it. The sales for these certified auto cards are pretty strong, so the affordable hobby boxes should be one to think about -- they weren't impossible pulls on the case level. Even Renna's standard auto here has sold for $90 -- so there seems to be continued interest in these cards.

NEW LOOKS AT LUKA
The Item: Luka Doncic 2018-19 Panini Chronicles XR rookie patch auto (/25)
The Price: $1,500 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I haven't seen any Chronicles NBA cards just yet but the Chronicles brand is a fun one that updates a number of sets all in one place and offers us looks at other brands we know but didn't necessarily get in a sport this year. That means more looks at Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic as well as others of note with collectors. This is a high-priced classic example of what's possible.
