eBay Buzz: Kenny Pickett ink, The Rock, a Mac Jones monster and Beavis & Butt-Head throwbacks make the list this time

IT'S ALMOST TIME ... 
The Item: Kenny Pickett 2022 Panini Prestige Draft Day autographs
The Price: $1,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I didn't price-check this one but all you need to know is that early in the season if a rookie emerges and only has a few cards available they'll be volatile if there is on-field success. He's got draft picks autos and other sigs here as well as elsewhere but this one is one that shows his first moment as a Pittsburgh Steeler while also having an on-card auto. That top-left corner isn't perfect -- that can come with on-card autos -- but this one seems like one of those kinds of cards with big early potential ... just like him, a home-grown college star at Pitt now possibly walking right into the starting spot for the Pittsburgh Steelers sooner than later. There's a reason his autos all have some interesting asking prices right now -- beyond the fact that the rookie class isn't as loaded as the last couple years. (That's another reason stars could be more volatile this year.) I'm not a buyer here but I think a number of people will be on his stuff. I'm still getting some tastes of 2021 NFL cards, myself.

IF YOU SMELLLLLLL ...
The Item: The Rock 2022 Panini Select WWE Concourse Black 1/1 parallel 
The Price: $14,999 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Will it sell for this? Will it not? I know I'm not buying ... but it could. Maybe. We'll see. Select is a stronger, smaller, more colorful version of Prizm and we know how newcomers bit there ... so anything is possible on the rarities here of big names from the past as well as young names from the present. The photo editing in this one is, to me, dramatically better than Prizm so there's a lot more catching my eye right now but, like Prizm, I have not bit yet. My first in-hand look here will come via some blasters in transit right now along with other WWE boxes that deliver less plastic-stock flash but more autos than this one. I like its potential but I'm playing the waiting game, myself. There are plenty of reasons to dig in here, especially if you're ripping to flip ... but that's not me.

HUH-HUH ... HUH-HUH ... 
The Item: Beavis & Butt-Head 1994 Fleer Ultra Beavis & Butt-Head PSA slab lot
The Price: $178 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: These idiots are back on TV via Paramount+ series that launched earlier this month and in a movie earlier this year and, well, that got me thinking about all the stuff this dynamic duo has appeared on in the past back when you could walk into a mall and find all kinds of pop culture stuff in, say, a toy store or a Spencer's Gifts. They were among them -- and might still be today in some areas -- but most of us might do some clicking of a mouse to find them now ... either on merch or TV. I don't think this one is the best buy out there as these aren't higher-grade slabs but these cards from Fleer might not grade well all these years later. (I have a feeling there could be gloss issues but I'm not coughing up the $150-plus for a box. I bit on something else recently. You'll see.) They only had a couple of card sets and some stickers back in their prime if I remember correctly and based on asking prices and some sale prices I'm not the only one looking around. That's probably the appeal of stupid ... and with these two I'm good with that. Could we see cards at some point again? It seems anything could be possible these days ...

A BIG MAC!
The Item: Mac Jones 2021 Donruss Optic Gold Vinyl 1/1 -- Rookie Card parallel (BGS 8.5)
The Price: $79,999 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This one is a biggie and it's not going to matter what the grade is here -- it is what it is -- and it's the only one there is. This price is big but the expectations are bigger for him in Season 2 and he's well-established in college so there's more than one fan base watching here. Could this price look stupid later? Maybe, maybe not but we'll find out in the coming years. He's got plenty of rare higher-end stuff out there and to come but this style of card has seemingly always been in-demand for years now. I'm personally more of a Donruss Optic fan than pretty much other stuff out there, too, so that's another reason this one made the list this time. Hobby boxes aren't cheap but they can deliver big stuff and the retail formats are just starting to pop up some more ... so there could be more ways for more of us to dabble on the cheap. Even those boxes can pay off as there's going to be demand for him and others in other shades of the parallel rainbow.
