SAN DIEGO'S NEW STAR?
The Item: Manny Machado 2010 Bowman Chrome Draft Gold Refractor Auto (/50, PSA 10-10)
The Price: $5,655 after 42 bids (seven hours remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Manny Machado has a agreed to a fat contract -- 10 years, $3o0 million -- with the San Diego Padres and now there might be some new fans for his key cards like this one. Will it make him more or less popular? I'm not sure, but the action on this card is strong right now. It should be interesting to see how it finishes up tonight. Boxes of this one won't be found easily or affordably, either, so it's the singles route here -- and your best bet is to go graded for sure. He's got a good volume of autos -- far cheaper options than this -- so you can find his ink if you need it. Will he be signing more autos with such a big deal? The size of the contract suggests he won't need to unless he wants to.

AS BIG AS IT GETS
The Item: Andre The Giant 2019 Topps WWE Transcendent Collection cut autograph (1/1)
The Price: $4,100 after 55 bids (six days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This cut auto was pulled over on BlowoutTV and it's on the auction block now featuring an autograph that's not easy to find and one that's among the best inclusions in what is the best wrestling card set ever made. Would you have bugged the 7-foot-4 520-pound Andre for an autograph had you had the chance before he died back in 1993? That seemingly didn't happen as often as it did for other stars from his time -- he's not an easy autograph. He's had just three cut autographs from any releases and two are in this one. The other one is a dual with his WrestleMania III manager Bobby "The Brain" Heenan -- also pulled on BlowoutTV via Houdini. These are also the first two WWE cut autos he's ever had -- he's that tough.

A HARPER TO HAVE
The Item: Bryce Harper 2012 Topps Heritage High Number RC (PSA 10)
The Price: $1,499.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: With Machado off the board, it's soon going to be time for Bryce Harper to have a new team and a new fat contract. Thanks to USA Baseball, we've had Harper cards for a decade now and he's got plenty of prospecting stuff, too, but when it comes to his Rookie Cards from 2012 there's one that stands out from the pack. It's this one, which was reportedly limited to just 1,000 copies as the set was an online-only offering from Topps. His autographs (blue and rarer red ink) do trump this one but they're all expensive. Even unopened sets don't come cheap. Why does this one get my nod here? The brand -- Heritage has been heating up on the RC front more and more in recent years and this is tough. Oh, and the fact that I never got around to getting one back in the day ... it still stings. If you're wondering, just 32 copies of this card have gotten a PSA 10 grade.

NEW PLATES & PATCHES ... OLD PLATE
The Item: Patrick Mahomes 2018 Panini Plates & Patches 2017 Playoff printing plate RC auto (1/1)
The Price: $302 after 29 bids (three days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This plate is a much bigger deal now than if it had shown up in a box last year when it could have. Plates and patches includes a printing plate in every box -- from many brands -- so things like this are a possibility if you opt to rip into a box. A historic season culminating in an MVP award might just be the start for Mahomes and there should be three others like this one out there to be found for this card -- and maybe more for this player.

WHAT IF ... TOM BRADY HAD A CHROME ROOKIE AUTO?
The Item: Tom Brady 2000 Bowman Chrome RC auto (PSA/DNA authenticated 9-10)
The Price: $808 after 20 bids (five days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This card is a bit of a "What-if?" reality for the question above. The NFL's greatest QB didn't have a Chrome auto back when he was a sixth-round draft pick out of Michigan, but somebody got him to sign this Chrome Rookie Card and had it authenticated and put on the block. It's a solid item and it should be fun to see where it ends on Sunday.
