CARDBOARD THAT KICKS
The Item: Mike Piazza 2019 Topps Diamond Icons Preeminent Pieces cleat Relic (/10)
The Price: $449.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is a game-used cleat card that has nine other cards similar to it in Topps' new high-end MLB brand that's all about the hits. They're not all like these but these are cards that have a distinct feel and look that's a lot different than the jersey or bat Relics that we've seen for years. That makes them always worth a look -- and this one seems a little under-priced even at that BIN. The fact that offers are being considered also indicates that the seller will take less -- both situations that work for me if I was a Piazza fan. This is also nowhere near the biggest finds in this release -- check out the autos link below.

The Item: Jim Lee original Batman and Robin inked original art
The Price: $14,999.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The market for published comic art has exploded in recent years and that's also translated into big sales for pieces from notable artists even if the pieces have not been published. This is one of those works as it's from DC Comics Co-publisher Jim Lee. Many fans probably remember his rise working on Marvel Comics' X-Men and its historic launch in 1991 that sold more copies than any other book in history but he's also worked on countless titles, including his own as part of the Image Comics revolution that then led him to DC.

ALL THAT INK ...
The Item: Jennifer Love Hewitt 2019 Goodwin Champions inscriptions autographs (/25)
The Price: $499 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This isn't her only inscription but it's a long one (the other is "Party of Five") and it's one of the impressive surprise inclusions in Goodwin this year along with a number of other names you might not expect to find. This brand is not the location of her only certified autos but they are her first autos in a decade and they might be your easiest to find ... at least for now. I'd probably go the un-inscribed route to save some cash but this is a situation where an inscription is worth it with all those letters -- it's an impressive card that should add to its appeal.

BIG WEEK, BIG CARD
The Item: Pete Alonso 2016 Bowman Draft Prospect Autographs Superfractor (1/1) (BGS 8.5/9)
The Price: $100,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This New York Mets rookie is having a huge year for the team known for big hitters and he's added to a record-setting season with a Home Run Derby title and a solid showing in the All-Star Game. (All that and this big card and we still get a sinking-Titanic tilted image? Sheesh.) This card is huge, though, his first Chrome auto in its rarest form -- just not in a grade that most people are good with. (It's still a Super card, though.) I doubt it will actually sell for that much ... but you never know because Superfractors can do crazy things to people.

I'D BUY THAT FOR $20 ... BUT CAN'T
The Item: Neil Armstrong signed personal check (not yet authenticated)
The Price: $3,399.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The first man to walk on the moon signed a lot of autographs in the past but over time simply stopped doing so for many people who asked -- and that has translated into a lot of fakes out there on premium items and a lot of money paid for the items that are real. This one? It's not authenticated by PSA or JSA -- but the seller is promising your money back if this one were to fail authentication. (Would I do that? Probably not but that PSA opinion button on the eBay listing is handy there if I were a buyer.) While checks are not as visually appealing, they are a good option for big names that are in demand as you get ink and a sense of authentication (yet they aren't certified without a third-party opinion to me) at a lower price than other items. There could be more growing interest here soon as the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing is just nine days away and you should see some interesting looks back at that historic event.
