THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL STAR
The Item: Andrew Luck 2018 Panini Gold Standard Good as Gold patch auto (/5)
The Price: 99 cents (no bids) with six-plus days remaining
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Remember when this guy was the hottest thing in the NFL? Injuries have derailed those Canton plans but he gets the spotlight tonight across from Tom Brady and the New England Patriots -- and that got me thinking about the autographs from a guy who once was a top dog in the hobby. Since his arrival in 2012, Luck has had more than 6,600 different football cards and he's closing in on 1,800 different certified autos. The lull in interest is probably behind us but there are still likely some bargains to be found -- and they could start with 99-cent auctions like this one.

A FIRST WWE AUTOGRAPH
The Item: Ronda Rousey 2018 Topps WWE Women's Division Blue Autographs (/25)
The Price: $202.50 after 13 bids (with about one day remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The WWE's newest mainstream star makes her WWE Rookie Card debut -- and her first WWE certified autograph, too -- in this one and this is the first of her signed cards to hit eBay. The card's use of the same image from WrestleMania that we saw on her first Topps Now card might hurt a little bit and some may not like the sticker autograph but it's the first of what will hopefully be more to come. This product had been a popular hit-per-box product the last couple of years and this year the brand is available in hobby-box form with an autograph in every box along with a second hit. Rousey's ink is likely to be lower in volume than others so that's incentive to not wait on more to pop up on eBay from this brand, though that does seem inevitable. It will be interesting to see where this auction ends soon.

GOOD THINGS TO (HALF) LIFE
The Item: Jayson Tatum 2017-18 Panini Opulence Rookie Patch Autographs Booklets Brand Logo (/5)
The Price: $17,495.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: There are probably a lot of fans who still don't like ads on jerseys but they do make for some different cardboard. Panini brought this one to life using half of a GE logo from a Tatum-worn jersey and it only made five cards featuring the brand logos from cards. The NBA market is full of these new-car-priced cards and the boxes out there can still have them inside as the new releases keep coming. A card like this one makes them worth the rip.

PETE DAVIDSON HAD A GOOD YEAR ...
The Item: Christian Yelich 2013 Topps Chrome Blue Refractor autograph (/199)
The Price: $299.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This Milwaukee Brewers outfielder came up just short of a historic Triple Crown season but his team's postseason run might be the biggest thing that affects interest in his cards from here on out this year. He appears on more than 2,100 different cards and nearly 500 different autographs but just six standard Rookie Cards from 2013, the year this one was released. This card may not get that much as his 2010 Bowman Draft first prospect autos are readily available (and cheaper for basic versions) but he's definitely on the radars of many out there.

NO CERTIFIED AUTOS, BUT PLENTY OF INK
The Item: Chadwick Boseman autographed 11-by-14 photo from 42 (PSA/DNA)
The Price: $149.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: In the five years since this actor brought Jackie Robinson to the big screen, he's had a number of big roles, iconic spots in blockbusters and a few other notable roles. Vontae Mack in Draft Day, James Brown in Get On Up, Thurgood Marshall in Marshall and, of course, Black Panther in a movie empire full of big stars. Through all of that, he's had a decent amount of cardboard but none with an autograph, leaving pieces like this one the only route to take. (And there are fakes out there so stick to certified pieces you believe in.) An interesting observation on his ink? The 42 you see here built into his autograph isn't only for autographs where he plays Robinson. It's on a lot of pieces of his and it often makes me wonder whether those faking his auto even realize what it is. Just imagine what a Topps-42 movie tie-in autograph might fetch now had it been done back then? He seems to sign somewhat regularly for somebody in Hollywood and that has some prices lower than one might expect but clean crisp autographed pieces seem to be the challenge here -- there are some that definitely scare me off even among those with certification.
