eBay Buzz Weekly Update: Luka Doncic, Grover, Bo Jackson, Ruby Riott and George H.W. Bush to end an excellent week

LUKA'S SKYWALKING CARDBOARD
The Item: Luka Doncic 2018-19 Panini Contenders The Finals Ticket auto (/25)
The Price: $3,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The arrival of this brand marks the arrival of the newest rare cardboard for this rookie who has been scorching when it comes to cardboard and not that shabby on the court for the Dallas Mavericks with 19 points 6.7 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. It's interesting that this one hasn't been slabbed up -- so it could have more price potential -- though the Optic versions of his cards in this one might be the top target for a few buyers. His cards are pricey across the board, so they are worth a look any time more arrive.

THE POWER OF PUNK?
The Item: Ruby Riott 2018 Topps Road to WrestleMania autograph 
The Price: $22.49 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: You might be wondering why this card is here as it's super-affordable and she's a relative newcomer to WWE and not yet one of its biggest names, but I noticed an anomaly out there when it comes to her autographs. This card is pretty much the cheapest one of the few for her on eBay, despite her having a decent amount of autographs to chase. You'll have to do a pair of searches -- Ruby Riot and Ruby Riott -- as her name was changed (likely for some merch trademark reasons) but you won't find many options at all. The only other two "Ruby Riot" cards on eBay have $50 and $249 price tags attached, while "Ruby Riott" yields about 20 cards (mostly from one release) with prices ranging from $35 to $150 for those that aren't bidding auctions. She's got about 60 different signed cards, so it seems like somebody might be buying and holding. Completed auctions show more than 50 sales ranging from a bargain $7.50 for an Undisputed card (I'd buy that) to $249 for a triple-auto card with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. Beyond the relative lack of available autos to buy, her Riott Squad does have a pretty good place among the WWE landscape with the faction being a definite candidate for the upcoming inaugural women's tag titles. (And they are pretty entertaining to follow on Instagram.)

PRESIDENTIAL DEMAND
The Item: George H.W. Bush 2012 Panini Americana Heroes & Legends autograph (/41)
The Price: $649.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The market for the few certified autograph appearances of past U.S. presidents has been strong in recent years but some of them are getting plenty of attention no matter what. This past president signed a number of autographs for low-volume cards in past Americana releases and even his unsigned memorabilia cards were strong sellers before his recent death last month. His autos haven't quite reached the price that this one has attached, but they're consistent sellers between $200-300. One of the most-popular Americana autos are ones that feature him alongside Barbara Bush. Asking prices for other autos from him have prices pushing $1,000 from Americana releases and that's in part because he doesn't have a ton of ink but also because you can't easily find hobby boxes. Retail boxes are findable but your odds on ink are long if they are in there at all, depending on formats. Interest in political autographs and memorabilia have been and will remain big deals so those rare instances where past presidents have signed directly for card companies will continue to dry up.

AN EXCELLENT ITEM?
The Item: Eric Jacobson autographed Super Grover Funko Pop! toy
The Price: $150 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Grover is having a day -- not sure if it's an excellent one -- after an apparent language snafu. I'm not sure if this autograph is authentic or not (Sesame Street just ain't my thing these days ... maybe 40 years ago), but Grover is getting talked about enough that you needed to see this. There were plenty of cosplay costumes and deluxe replicas of this grizzled broadcasting veteran over on eBay, but I'll admit I thought Super Grover was the baddest of them all long, long ago. I thought this whole thing was funny enough with its "Laurel vs. Yanny" debate that's just not there this time to mention it here ... it's one of those things that will vanish from our Twitter feeds soon, I'm sure. (Don't have a clue what I'm talking about? Go look.)

A NOSE FOR BO
The Item: Lot of 21 1988 Topps NFL cello and rack packs -- all showing Bo Jackson Rookie Cards
The Price: $1,799.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: To me the 1988 Topps set marked the final key release of that era for football cards from that company and it's all because of one card. (Topps Traded was solid the year after this but everything began to change pretty dramatically for football cards after that -- the end of an era.) This stash of packs probably cost less than $25 to exist back in the day based on original prices, but definitely took some work to hunt them all down -- at least without access to sealed cases. Cello packs back in the day allowed for hunting like this and it's an impressive haul with the former Raiders RB showing on every one. I'm not sure it's worth that much, but I know there's a decent amount paid for packs like these, especially if they are slabbed. (Recent sales show $65 for a single PSA 9 cello pack showing Bo, while asking prices are around $100.)
