eBay Buzz Weekly Update: Old World Series tickets, Johnny Damon's sticker, Tua Tagovailoa ink, Benintendi & more

A LITTLE EXTRA
The Item: Johnny Damon 2018 Topps Five Star patch auto (/25)
The Price: $179.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This brand is loaded with impressive cardboard and some crazy patches but this one comes with a little extra included -- as you can see that's a PSA/DNA authentication sticker for the jersey where this patch came from. That notes that this jersey was signed with a game-used 2011 inscription -- something you'll know from just this swatch but not any of the other 24 that exist. A simple and fun item. The Item: Andrew Benintendi 2015 Bowman Draft Superfractor autograph (1/1; BGS 9/10)
The Price: $55,000 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This guy had a pretty good week and now he's headed to the World Series with the Boston Red Sox where they'll meet either the Dodgers or the Brewers. The young stars of the Sox are getting a lot of attention -- Mookie Betts arguably No. 1 -- on cardboard but this guy will get even more if he adds a ring at 24. Is this card $55,000 good? Maybe not, but we've seen weird things happen with big names and Superfractors in recent months. An unsigned 2017 Topps Chrome (RC) Super also is on eBay with a far cheaper price and it's not alone there right now -- check out that link below.

HIS TIDE IS RISING
The Item: Tua Tagovailoa 2017 Leaf U.S. Army All-American patch auto card (/25)
The Price: $1,750 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Alabama Crimson Tide has been absolutely obliterating its competition all season long and its quarterback has to be a Heisman front-runner with video-game caliber stats that include 21 touchdowns, zero interceptions and zero minutes of playing time in the fourth quarter this year as the blowouts have meant rest time. He's had four touchdown passes in a game three times this year and hasn't had less than two as Alabama has scored at least 39 points in every game. If his national championship-clinching game wasn't enough earlier this year, this kind of dominance has made boxes of 2017 Leaf U.S. Army All-American cards virtually non-existent and his autos there big-dollar cardboard. (A standard auto limited to two copies sold for $1,000 earlier this month -- and check out that link below for one with a crazier price than this card.) He has nearly 50 different autos stemming from his appearance in this event and they'll be picking up steam big-time between now and season's end.

HOW 'BOUT THAT PATCH?
The Item: Calvin Ridley 2018 Panini Phoenix patch auto (1/1)
The Price: $126.50 after 13 bids (with eight days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This brand is a new arrival with a solid array of colorful cards and big hits and this rookie is among the guys who'll be chased hard from boxes of this one after a hot start. Why did this particular card show up here? The fact that it's an actual auction and not a listing with a hefty price tag. Buzz likes these because there's some action to watch before the dust settles. How high will it go? I'm not sure -- it seems there's a lot of cool cards like this being found -- but it will be one I'm watching until then.

BOSTON VS. BROOKLYN
The Item: 1916 World Series Game 3 ticket stub (PSA 2 MK)
The Price: $6,500 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: If the Dodgers end up taking on the Red Sox in the World Series, it will be the first match-up of those franchises in the finale since the Dodgers were known as the Brooklyn Robins way back in 1916 and a 21-year-old pitcher named Babe Ruth was a star for the Sox. This photo from the eBay listing may not be subtle, but it reflects that as The Bambino is seen at left. A total of just seven stubs from this game have been encapsulated by PSA and all but one are a PSA 3 or lower. (The best is a PSA 6.) This is a name-your-price kind of piece and a ticket with some really nice printing details unlike a lot of stubs that have come since. It's too pricey for me to start a collection but I'm betting there are some nice stashes of just that out there.
