eBay Buzz Weekly Update: Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuña, Miguel Andujar, Ronda Rousey ... and a Hall of Fame steal?

We’ll spotlight some items that have a story or just wow us with how much interest it might have — and we’re not just talking baseball cards, either.

THIS YEAR’S PHENOM -- SHOHEI OHTANI
The Item: A game-used baseball from Shohei Ohtani's MLB debut
The Price: $479.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This year's biggest deal on baseball cards is also becoming a big deal elsewhere for memorabilia fans -- and some of the newest items out there are ones from the games he's played thanks to the MLB Authentication program. Fans in MLB cities have a built-in advantage when it comes to game-used memorabilia but that hobby has continued to be a fun one to explore on eBay. In cases of notable rookies such as Ohtani or future Hall of Famers, there are plenty of instances where a typical game-used ball is something more. This particular ball is from his MLB debut game on March 29 in Oakland. He didn't use this ball, but it's one of not many out there to be authenticated and make it to market. Helping it is the fact that MLB Authentication notes this being Ohtani's debut game in its listing. Balls Ohtani pitched in his first start commanded much more than this direct from the team, making a ball like this an interesting option. They won't be making more debut gamers -- so once they're gone, they're gone.

A HALL OF FAME STEAL? -- MIGUEL CABRERA
The Item: 2012 Topps Miguel Cabrera Own the Game 1/1 game-used letter patch
The Price: $149.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Sure, there are a lot of impressive memorabilia cards out there these days, but this is a future Hall of Famer and baseball's only Triple Crown winner in decades. Admittedly, this one came up in a search for a different Miguel ... keep reading ... but this is a solid card that seems underpriced to me. It may or may not have a surface issue at the bottom of the card but it still seems like an impressive bargain card. Consider how big the Topps flagship print run is, too, and you'll realize this is a needle-in-a-haystack kind of find.

HE'S SCORCHING RIGHT NOW -- MIGUEL ANDUJAR
The Item: Miguel Andujar signed game-used fielding glove (with JSA authentication and signing photos)
The Price: $14,999 Buy-It-Now (or Best Offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Before he put up an 0-fer on Tuesday, this New York Yankees rookie had gone 15-for-27 with 12 extra-base hits in a stacked lineup of young stars. His seven games with extra bases at his age had only been done by two past Yankees, Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio. He's hitting .295 with three homers and 11 RBI this season after a slow start but now that he's warming up the madness that we saw glimpses of on cardboard in spring training should be coming back (if it ever really left). As for game-used stuff, fielding gloves are among the rarer possibilities, making this one a piece to consider. Yes, it's pricey, but that's the reason beyond his performance on the field.

WAITING ON HER FIRST IN-PACK WWE CARDS -- RONDA ROUSEY
The Item: 2018 Topps Now WWE Ronda Rousey WrestleMania 34 Mat Relic (/25)
The Price: $399 Buy-It-Now 
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This former UFC star transcended the fight game with mainstream movie appearances and other turns in the spotlight before she set her sights to WWE and made a debut match at WrestleMania. For now, her only WWE cards are a basic Topps Now WWE card (now shipping) and this Relic, which has sold for as much as $265 in recent auctions. The mat Relic is typically the plain-white-swatch kind of hit in boxes but here it's a first that sold out immediately when it was offered. There are only two available on eBay -- and the other one has a $500 price tag attached. We may get to wait a bit for her first WWE cards in packs (her deal is that new) which will keep the focus on here until that time. Her base cards set a new Topps Now record for WWE and have sold for $30 so it's clear that the fan base is still there for her.
