AN OHTANI 1/1 ... ON THE CHEAP?
The Item: 2018 Bowman Shohei Ohtani Yellow 1/1 Printing Plate
The Price: $879 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The speculators in Shohei Ohtani cardboard might be less speculative now that he is facing injury issues that could sideline him for some time -- at least it's looking that way. But, if this one had been found a month ago, it would be much pricier than that asking price. No matter what he does in MLB from here on out -- on the mound or with his bat -- he'll always be an established star in Japan. That's what makes this one seem under-priced to me.

The Item: Tokens & Icons Boston Red Sox MLB Authenticated game-used baseball bottle-opener
The Price: $200 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The Tokens & Icons company takes iconic everyday objects and turns them into something else. Old typewriter letters as cufflinks, old golf clubs and tennis rackets as bottle openers and corkscrews, subway tokens and maps as keychains and watch faces, and even winter beanie caps made from the innards of game-used baseballs. I first wrote about these high-end items years ago and these pieces are definitely unique for somebody who already has it all but doesn't have this. This item has always drawn my attention -- a game-used (and authenticated) baseball literally cut in half but turned into a bottle opener.

HERE COMES THE MONEY ... 
The Item: A five-pound bag of shredded U.S. currency
The Price: $68.95 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is totally legit and it's sold by the government in these exact bags -- for $45 right here -- and these bags are reportedly $10,000 in bills that you just can't use. Someday I'm going to do this to every 1990 Pro Set football card I can find and make millions ... millions!

GOING BACK TO THE BURLAP
The Item: 1968 Topps baseball card set (NM+)
The Price: $7,130 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is one of Buzz's favorite sets of the 1960s and a number of the cards in this one come graded -- but not the biggest ones -- so that helps the price here while also maintaining the higher standards. (That Mantle cut looks admittedly a little funky.) Buying vintage in lots or sets isn't cheap but it's often a good way to go vs. buying them by singles to complete them.

A WHOLE LOT OF HAPPY?
The Item: Lot of 100 1990s and 2000s McDonald's Happy Meal boxes 
The Price: $49.99 Buy-It-Now
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Advertising pieces -- and that's what these are -- are a very collectable part of Americana and these are ones that you really wouldn't expect to still exist, but there are people who collect a bit of everything. These are a little bit collectable due to what's on the boxes -- Hello Kitty, Kung Fu Panda, The Incredibles, G.I. Joe, Cars and Madagascar 2 are among the many here -- and then with the McDonald's world as a whole. Meanwhile, in reality, these shouldn't even exist as they're simply food packaging that was meant to be used for a short time, entertain those looking at them, and be discarded. They weren't meant to be saved. (Sound like anything else out there from the past?)
