THE BASIC BIG ONE
The Item: Zion Williamson 2019-20 Panini National Treasures NBA Rookie Patch Autograph (/99)
The Price: $76,700 after 128 bids (two days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This was the first NT Zion Williamson card to hit eBay from this premium brand and it's one that's, believe it or not, not even the priciest card to hit the auction site. Hit that link below to see the rarer six-figure version of a Williamson card already up for grabs ... the first of many to come from this release. Is there hype here? Yep. Is there the money being paid for cards like this? Yep. Is there risk? Yep. Is there big-reward potential if he dominates the NBA for years? Yep. The boxes aren't cheap but the potential for life-changing cards is real ... in case you missed this here it is again. There are a lot more than 99 people out there around the world who would want this card and the price is in part a reflection of that. How it ends will be interesting to watch -- and I also wonder if the bidding would be helped by a better-looking photo (I had to clean things up to present it here) but that's probably a topic for a different time.

The Item: Joe Burrow 2020 Panini Contenders Draft Picks Game Day Ticket Diamond Autograph (/15)
The Price: $899.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: You might be ready for NFL cardboard but the coronavirus pandemic has slowed down everything from the cardboard calendar to the Rookie Premiere ... which isn't even happening this year so that will slow some NFL cardboard a bit. (Will the season have any delays? My money says yes, but we'll see.) The newest release to hit collectors' hands, though, is this one which just hit retail today after its previous FOTL and hobby arrival. Joey B's future success with the Bengals is the subject of speculation and plenty of banking on cardboard right now despite the Bengals' QB history, but one thing's for sure -- cards like this will always be in demand with LSU fans. The draft picks cards are getting serious looks this year and they should with some solid, solid names to be had.

COLORFUL COMPONENTS
The Item: Ken Griffey Jr. 2020 Panini Diamond Kings Quad Logo Patches Masterpiece (1/1)
The Price: $620 after 37 bids (one day remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Between Court Kings and Diamond Kings, there are a lot of colorful new cards out there with a rather royal feel -- and this one is a sweet creation showing this Hall of Famer with some pieces of an old Seattle Mariners jersey. There are other versions of this card (not 1/1) to be found and they are worth a look, too, but this one gets the nod here because once it's gone it's gone.

MEGA BUCKS
The Item: Jasson Dominguez 2020 Bowman Chrome Mega Box Mojo Refractor prospect autograph 
The Price: $2,450 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: If you have a Target store nearby, you might need to do a run to see if you can find some Bowman Mega Boxes (if not, click below) along with the toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Why? They have their own rainbow of Chrome autographs for this highly touted Yankees prospect who is commanding all kinds of big cash right now on eBay. Just because you didn't find it in a hobby box doesn't mean it can't be in huge demand -- see the link below ... this isn't even close to the priciest one there. Like Williamson, this one is all about future potential and people are paying big right now. (I'm not a seller but if I pulled one, I'd be cashing in. I'd take my chances if I managed to pull one.)

NEW OLD SAFETY
The Item: George Brett 2020 Topps Tier One Uniform Button Relics (/5)
The Price: $99.95 opener (no bids, six days remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Not everything new focuses on "what-if" potential of young stars -- and I'd argue that cards like these, while they may not have as much up-side, are a safer pick-up for potential appreciation over time if you focus on the right players. Cards like this -- rare, interesting, popular Hall of Famer -- may not be all about some big-name ink but they are safe. If cards like these were around 20 years ago, they'd carry some surprising prices on them when hitting the auction block when boxes are nowhere to be found. And in 20 years from now there will be a ton of different things out there but what makes this card good will still be what you see here -- rarity, a unique piece and a popular Hall of Famer.
