This one is a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's perhaps something to ponder.
This time? Five upcoming products on Buzz's mind right now.
ONE OF THE GO-TO RELEASES ...
Dropping March 3: 2021 Topps Heritage baseball cards
While standard Topps is the flagship release for pretty much all of collecting, for the last 21 years this one has been a highlight and a staple for many who enjoy things oldschool but with the chases of today and plenty of nods to the days that were so much different than they are now. I've said it before, but the 1970s perhaps won't be as fun for some Heritage fans -- I'm speaking for myself here but others may agree -- but the 1972 Topps set is one that has some weirdness that works. (And it's better than most of what might follow it for Heritage.) This set is one that gets a ride this year ... so here's hoping that beget all that and more. The Relics look like they could be interesting this year but that's just one thing to look for. Now is the time to be watching the boxes and get those pre-orders in, too, as peoples' attention might be on other sports or flagship that arrives before this one. (Hit that link for closer look and to find an ordering link, of course.)
Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.
A GAME-CHANGER COMING?
Dropping Jan. 27: 2020 WWE Topps Fully Loaded wrestling cards
I'm not 100-percent sure if this one will be a Wrestlemania-caliber main event debut or one that can offer up a smackdown here and there but it's something different for WWE fans and I'm already committed to ripping a case of this one when it arrives. (It's been delayed but it's coming as you can see in the photo above where star newcomer Rhea Ripley was signing her match-used chair Relic cards.) What is this one? It's a WWE set where it's one encased card per box -- and that's it -- with a case including 20 boxes. I was immediately "in" here seeing the more modest price point (it's not Transcendent but a little more substantive than Undisputed) and the fact that there will be types of Relics here not done in a long time for a mainstream release and not at all before by Topps. See more at the link above ... there could be some big pulls here ... including Vince McMahon ink. Ultimately (like a lot of stuff) it all just comes down to the checklist and the mix.

BACK ON THE TRACK
Dropping Dec. 9: 2020 Panini National Treasures NASCAR cards
It's been a few years since National Treasures hit the NASCAR ranks (2016 and 2017) and it's back with some dollar-making newcomers in the mix that should generate some attention. At the same time, a lot of those established stars and all-time greats might not be as findable in the previous releases now, so there could be some heat here for more standard stuff. The first two releases had plenty of surprises but the boxes got cheap -- I did a lot of group breaks here -- and books like the one you see here will be big, big deals that should keep things from dipping like it's a post-Big One lap at Talladega this time. (I say that meaning one thing but, really, those moments of on-track chaos are can't-miss stuff.) The time off will probably help this one out, too.

THE GO-TO CHASE
Dropping Dec. 2: 2020 Panini Prizm NFL cards
The NFL version of Prizm is coming soon and there's no doubt that this brand is one of the most-watched in pretty much any sport -- and you can tell that to be the case with more than a dozen options between pack types and parallel-ish releases with different textures and scarce inclusions only found in certain spots. It's already red-hot and has been but I'll be more of a singles hunter here beyond what few things I can find early on at retail. There's a ton to choose from and a ton to chase, so I think scouting the possibilities and who's included might be wise before digging in hard ... but that said you can have one big pull pay for a lot of other cardboard if you're ripping to flip. Hit that link for more info, pics and the link to grab it all. (And if you're not chasing here I'd say take a look at Prizm Draft cards of your same guys. There could be some solid bargains to be found.)

I'M JUST WINDOW SHOPPING ...
Dropping Nov. 25: 2019-20 Panini One and One NBA cards
The label above says it all, but one of the last groups of rookie-year NBA stuff for Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and plenty more is on the way here and for you high-rollers it's a solid one. These boxes are small -- one encased on-card auto and one other card and that's it -- but the big stuff will be big. This one gets my attention because I like the design here and liked it in football, too, though I never ripped in. I've picked off some smaller singles. Some good stuff will arrive in this one -- hit that link to see more.
