This one is a quick idea for a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's something to think about.

This time? Young MLB stars I'd be eyeing on cardboard right now (some obvious choices).

THE NEXT BIG THING ...
New York Yankees prospect Jasson Dominguez makes his MLB cardboard debut in 2020 Bowman 1st Edition which will be followed up by the standard 2020 Bowman release soon. The 17-year-old outfielder from the Dominican Republic is getting a boatload of attention here -- and the prices on his base cards in this debut release are nutty (for a base card) but justified (given the type of release), so I present a strategy. If you're going to chase him, get one of his parallels instead -- preferably a numbered version. Yes, it will cost you more but it might be a safer long-term hold since they will be rarer than the standard card. If he delivers big, it won't matter -- all will be in demand -- but the numbered stuff will be safer either way. Also a thought? If you can't go there on this one, consider he's got stuff in 2019 Panini Prizm Draft Picks and 2019 Elite Extra Edition -- including autographs -- as well as 2019 Leaf Metal Draft.

Keep reading for four more making up the list this time.

THE DYNAMIC DUO
One Atlanta Braves star you should know as one of the top young players in the game -- a guy who almost became the newest member of the 40-40 Club last year and yet still has room to improve -- and then the other is a guy who has quietly put up very strong numbers for his position (check those stats!) mostly off the radar of many collectors. Both Ronald Acuña Jr. and Ozzie Albies have their Rookie Cards in a few 2018 releases and prospect cards back as far as 2015 (Albies) and 2016 (Acuña). One is going to consistently be on the pricey side and one is definitely not for the most part ... and both are worth a look and have big potential if the young Braves team pulls off some big things when they play once again.

BO KNOWS
There are a number of second-generation stars among the newcomers the last few years but Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette would be easily among the few names I'd watch for RCs this year because he delivered well as a 21-year-old rookie last year. He hit .311 with 18 doubles, 11 homers and 21 RBI in just 46 games. Meanwhile, in four MiLB seasons, he hit .321 with 111 doubles, 15 triples and 37 homers and 217 RBI in 323 games ... those numbers are also impressive. His first prospect cards arrived back in 2016 so he's got a decent amount of stuff to chase -- some pricey, some not -- with him perhaps overlooked a little bit (a little) with other young Blue Jays newcomers also popular the last couple of years.

--

HOME RUN HEAT
Mets first baseman Pete Alonso had an absolute monster of a season in 2019 with an MLB-leading 53 homers that set a new rookie-year record while playing for a big-market team ... and yet he's got a lot of cards that seem cheaper than they should be. Why might I say this? Think about how big Aaron Judge cardboard was back in his rookie year where he set the previous rookie-year record. Sure, the Yankees are a better team compared to the Mets -- many are -- but the numbers are similar save for perhaps batting average. His cheaper cards have room to grow, especially if he puts up a second strong season sometime soon.
