What's buzz-worthy: Leaf's ultra-high-end brand arrives on the ice with a number of legendary inclusions there as well as some lofty additions from both history and pop culture.

The Basics: Just 150 cases will be made for this one and there will be base cards with pearls embedded into them, base autographs, Pearl Cuts one per box with lofty names such as Abraham Lincoln, John Wayne, John F. Kennedy and Cyclone Taylor for starters. Letter or Lace cards will include nameplate patches or laces from jerseys, while Paragon Signatures will include patches and ink for notable players and Pearlescent Patch cards will be just large swatches. Stick nameplates will make up the Personalized set of 1/1 cards, while Paragon Triple Signatures will use three autos per card. ... Pearl Hockey History Books will pair cut autos with "museum-level memorabilia," while Magnum Opus cards will be dual 1/1 memorabilia cards with nameplates and logos from legends from the NHL as well as other sports. Also in play here will be Magnificent Materials eight-piece cards for single legends and Pearl Memorabilia Four, which will have pieces from four notables. Pearls of History, Pearlescent Dual Patches and Pearl Immortals (with multiple players ...as many as eight) will round out the memorabilia. ... Other autographs will include The Year In Sports -- autos for athletes of note in several sports all on one card -- and Pearl Eight Signatures that will have eight autos per card from NHL legends. Last but not least, there will be Pearl City Signatures with three autos from various sports with city ties, while this one also will be the home of Pearl Pop Century Preview cards that offer a glimpse of what's to come for non-sports fans from this brand the next time around.
