What: 2017-18 Panini Opulence basketball cards

What's buzz-worthy: Panini calls this newcomer "a luxury basketball trading card set" and it will include on-card autographs of rookies, veterans, retired legends and Hall of Famers among a hits-heavy high-end mix.

The Basics: There will be NBA Finals books -- with Logoman versions -- from last year's NBA Finals (Game 2) as well as Octo Rookie Booklets with ink from Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, Jayson Tatum, De’Aaron Fox, Lauri Markkanen, Dennis Smith Jr., Donovan Mitchell and Kyle Kuzma. Among the on-card autos will be Opulent Autographs, Championship Hall Signatures, Golden Autographed Memorabilia, Precious Swatch Signatures, Gold Medal Autographs and Gold Records Signatures. The rookie patch autos will be limited to just 79 copies. ... Boxes carry a $1,000 suggested retail price.
