What's buzz-worthy: Panini's Donruss NFL brand arrives for a new season the design we've seen for baseball this year -- one that appears primed for Optichrome treatment -- with a new crop of Rated Rookies and a nod to 1988 Donruss baseball cards.

The Basics: Collectors can expect to find 48 rookies in every box -- 24 Rated Rookies and 24 other rookies -- as well as 40 inserts and parallels just like last year. New for this year will be 1988 and 1988 Tribute cards, while other inserts will include Ground Force, MVP, Champ is Here, Snow Days, Walter Payton Man of the Year and Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Life. Rated Rookies will spotlight this year's rookie class in their new NFL uniforms, while there will be Rookie Phenom Jersey Autos (/99 max) with prime (/25) and 1/1 laundry tag parallels. Also in the mix for memorabilia cards will be Rookie Threads. with the same parallels. ... Among the rare inserts will be Downtown! inserts found one per case, while Fans of the Game will be back with Olympian Chloe Kim, Chris Evans and James Caan among this year's celebs. ... The basic set will include 300 basic cards and 100 rookies with parallels that will include but not be limited to diecut Press Proofs with Silver (/75), Gold (/25) and 1/1 Black versions. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $72 ($2.99 per pack). (Note: Rookie mocks here show last year's rookie class.)

Factory sets: There also will be 401-card factory sets with a green Rookie Threads bonus card only found with the sets. They'll carry a suggested retail price of $49.99 and come eight sets per case.
