What's buzz-worthy: Panini's third release for Optic baseball cards includes the year's biggest Rated Rookie Shohei Ohtani, one of its biggest prospects who just arrived in Ronald Acuña and plenty of stars from the past and present all in one place.

The Basics: These boxes will include 14 inserts or parallels and 15 Rated Rookies on top of the hits, which will include on-card autographs for top rookies. There also will be four Hot Boxes per case with two of those having five autographs and two of those including 20 numbered Prizm parallels. ... The insert lineup will include Out of this World, Mound Marvels, Long Ball Leaders, Rated Rookie Retro 1984, Standouts and Rated Prospects. ... On the autograph front, there will be Retro 1984 Signatures with Gold, Red and Blue parallels among the rainbow that will include base players, Rated Rookies and Rated Prospects. Autos also will include Optic Autographs and Significant Signatures. ... The base set will include 175 cards with 30 Diamond Kings, 35 Rated Rookies, 10 All-Stars and 100 standard player cards and the rainbow of parallels here will include (but is not limited to) Aqua, Orange and Black. ... These will carry a suggested retail price of $4.25 per pack ($85 per box).
