What's buzz-worthy: Classics returns for another season with a new retro look for a meaty base set comprised of veterans, rookies and retirees.

The Basics: The base set will once again consist of 100 veterans, 100 legends and 100 new rookies. New this year will be Classics Premium Edition parallels printed on Optichrome stock -- there will be four of those per box with one limited to no more than 175 copies. ... Also included here will be buyback autographs from 1988 to 2017 (one per inner case) as well as Premium Edition auto cards and Classic Combo Signatures. ... New this year will be Vintage Stickers with three designs -- logos, pennants and award-winners. They'll be found just two per box. ... Typical boxes will include one auto, one mem, three Premiums, one numbered Premium, two stickers, six parallels and 14 other inserts. ... Base cards will have a number of parallels, including red back (/299), blank back (/50), no name (/10) and full name (/5). Meanwhile, Timeless Tributes will have Gold (/99), Orange (/25), Blue (/10) and 1/1 Black versions. Among the inserts will be High Praise, though a number of other sets were not yet revealed. Among the hits will be Classic Combo Signatures with great duos and parallels with Prizm versions limited to as few as one copy, while Legends Significant Signatures will include rookies, current players and past stars. The memorabilia cards will include Canton Collection Swatches with prime versions limited to no more than 50 copies. ... These will carry a suggested retail price of $5 per pack or $70 per box.
