What's buzz-worthy: Gold Standard hits the pitch for the first time with "a treasure trove of gold-themed autographs, memorabilia, inserts and more" inside its high-end boxes.

The Basics: The basic box of this one will include three hits, one base card, one parallel and two inserts from a lineup of players that includes "superstars from clubs, such as Manchester United, Liverpool FC & FC Barcelona and national teams such as Argentina, Germany [and the] United States." ... The base set will include 100 cards (/129) with parallels that include AU (/79), Fine (/29), Mint (/19) and 1/1 Pure. ... Among the autos will be Gold Medals (/129 max) with Fine (/29 max), Mint (/19) and 1/1 Pure. There also will be jersey autos and Gold Strike Signatures cards to chase among the 14 autographed sets in this one. Others will include Mother Lode, Golden Goals, Golden Gloves, Golden Opportunity, 14 K Autographs, 24K Autographs, Golden Duals (/25 max) and 1/1 Bullion Brand Signatures. ... Memorabilia cards will include 1/1 Bullion Brand cards as well as Mother Lode and Molten Memorabilia, which will have AU, Fine, Mint and Pure parallels with the same volumes as elsewhere. ... Among the inserts will be Solid Gold. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $160.
