What's buzz-worthy: Panini's newest release for Optic baseball cards continues to pack plenty of ink, plenty of inserts and parallels and four Hot Boxes per case.

The Basics: This year, these boxes will include 17 inserts, five numbered parallels and the two autos unless it's an ink Hot Box and that will include five. There will be two of those per case while the other two will including 20 numbered Prizm parallels. ... Among the autos will be Rated Prospect (on-card sigs) for 15 players as well as Retro 1985 autos that will have six parallels -- Holo (/99), Blue (/50), Red (/25), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl. Also in the mix will be rookie autos with a crop including Kyle Tucker, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Eloy Jimenez among others. Teased signers for the 1985 cards include Don Mattingly and Mike Mussina. ... Among the new inserts will be Mythical, Optic Illusion and Peak Performers as well as Red White and Blue 150th base parallels. The inserts will have Holo, Gold (/10) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl parallels. ... The base set will include 200 cards with 100 base, 50 Rated Rookies, 30 Diamond Kings and 20 All-Stars in the subsets. There will be at least 14 parallels per card on that front. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $85 ($4.25 per pack).
