What's buzz-worthy: Elite is back with this year's new crop of NFL rookies in their pro uniforms and plenty of firepower inside for the long-running and popular brand.

The Basics: Boxes once again will include at least three Rookie Cards, six parallels and eight other insert cards. ... Rookies will appear on cards limited to no more than 699 copies with Aspirations/Status (/99), Aspirations/Status Die Cut (/24), Red (/299), Purple (/99), Orange (/49), Blue (/10) and 1/1 Black versions. Veteran parallels will include the same lineup. ... Back on board this time will be Passing the Torch Signatures with notable duals (/25 max) as well as 1/1 Black parallels. ... Pen Pals will be back with black-, blue- (/99), green- (/10) and 1/1 red-ink variations as well as dual-auto cards. ... New this time will be 1999 Elite Rookies throwbacks with those having Aspirations (/99), Status (/99) and 1/1 Black parallels.... Turn of the Century autos will be found for top rookies (/199 max) with Red (/99), Purple (/49), Orange (/25), Blue (/10), Gold (/5) and 1/1 Black parallels. Also back will be Elite Signatures (/99 max). ... Spellbound takes another turn with a rainbow of parallels, while Elite Company will have just Gold (10) and 1/1 Black parallels. ... The basic set will include 100 veterans, 50 rookies and 50 retired players. ... Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $120 ($6 per pack).
