What's buzz-worthy: Playoff hits the hobby portion of the industry after its retail debut earlier this month with more of everything in every box for a release that could hit plenty of hot spots for collectors.

The Basics: Boxes will contain 12 Rookie Cards and 24 inserts or parallels in this one with Green Contenders previews (/23) among the big ink draws along with Rookies autos, Game Day Signatures, Hall of Fame autos, Touchdown Tandems and rookie auto variations. ... The base set will consist of 200 veterans and 100 Rookie Cards with First Down (/99), Third Down (/25), Fourth Down (/10) and 1/1 Touchdown parallels found in these boxes. ... Rookie autos will have variations (/50) that also will have parallels -- Fourth Down (/10) and 1/1 Touchdown versions in these boxes. ... Hall of Fame autos (/50) will have the same two parallels and Touchdown Tandems will, too, with the Fourth Down parallels limited to five copies. ... Rounding out the hits will be Game Day Signatures (/75 max) with Fourth and TD parallels as well as Game Day Memorabilia cards that will have Prime (/50) parallels along with Accolades, Rookie Stallions and Turning Pro Memorabilia. ... Each box will carry a suggested retail price of $100.
