What's buzz-worthy: Topps Archives is back with looks back at the 1950s, 1970s and 1990s as part of the base set while also spotlighting favorites from the past and present with past card designs.

The Basics: The 300-card base set will showcase the 1958, 1993 and 1975 Topps designs each with 100 cards and they will have at least Purple (/175), Silver (/99), Blue (/25, hobby-only) and 1/1 Gold parallels but likely more. Among the inserts will be an Ichiro Retrospective set with his past Topps cards reprinted with various foil colors -- Blue (/150), Green (/99), Gold (/50), Red (/10) and 1/1 Black. There also will be a 1994 Topps Future Stars insert set with stars from that year as well as today. Also new this time around will be a 50th Anniversary of the Montreal Expos set with the same parallels as the Ichiro set. The Ichiro set also will have short-printed cards with Green Gold, Red and Black parallels atop their scarcity. Rounding things out for inserts will be Topps Magazine inserts, 1975 Topps Highlights, 1993 Topps Rookies using that year's Draft Picks design and 1975 Topps Minis. There also will be some unannounced variations in the mix.

The Fan Favorites autos will be the main focus for ink with on-card autos for baseball personalities, fan favorites and active and retired players on varying past designs. They will have Purple (/150), Silver (/99), Blue (/25, hobby-only) and 1/1 Gold parallels. There will be autographs for the inserts, including the Expos set with parallels -- Green (/99), Gold (/50), Red (/10) and 1/1 Black -- as well as Ichiro autos that will be limited to just five copies per card with a 1/1 Black parallel. The 1994 Future Stars cards will have autos with Blue (/25), Red (/10) and 1/1 Gold versions, and those will be joined by Topps Magazine autos one per case with Blue and 1/1 Gold versions as well as 1978 Topps Record Breaker autos (/25) with Red and 1/1 Gold versions. Rounding things out will be Topps Originals buyback autos from the 1950s to 1990s (/10).
