First Buzz: 2020-21 NBA Hoops basketball cards

What's buzz-worthy: A new NBA season will be upon us soon and the new cardboard is coming, too, with Hoops helping usher in a new class of rookies and plenty more in mid-January.

The Basics: There will be 24 insert cards per box in this one just like this past season and there will be some new touches like a 1990-91 Tribute set that emulates the second season of Hoops back in the day. NBA rookies will have a big presence in the base set (last year's players are used in mocks here), while some of the inserts will include High Voltage, HIPnotized, Courtside, Prime Twine and City Edition. There will be a number of inserts in the lineup only found in hobby packs for this release. ... Among the ink will be Hot Signatures and Hot Signatures Rookies that can also be found as Red Hot versions limited to only 25 copies per card. NBA Art Signatures will have on-card autographs in this one for top picks in the 2020 NBA Draft. ... There also will be parallels for base cards but none of those were detailed. ... Packs once again will carry a suggested retail price of $3.33 ($80 per box).
