First Buzz: 2020-21 Panini Revolution basketball cards

What's buzz-worthy: Panini's colorful pattern-filled brand hits the hardwood once again with a new crop of Rookie Cards (RCs here are mocks using last year's players), tough ink but plenty of parallels and more to chase.

The Basics: There will be four rookies, four inserts and eight parallels per box this time and autograph volumes per case were not announced like last year. The base set will include 100 veterans and 50 rookies with a number of parallels (volume not detailed this year) that will include Astro, Groove, Fractal, Impact, Cosmic, Sunburst, Cubic, Lava and Galactic. Galactic parallels also will be found for insert cards that will include Vortex, Rookie Revolution, Shock Wave, Supernova and Liftoff! for starters. Ink here will be simple -- Revolution autos and Rookie autos -- but with parallels like everything else here. The rookies seen mocked here use last year's players -- look for an update here soon. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $75 ($9.38 per pack).

Update: There are also 12-pack Chinese New Year boxes to come for this one with five cards per pack and eight does per case. Rookie autos (mocks using last year's rookies here) will be limited to to the jersey number of the player. There will be exclusive parallels for the base cards and rookies -- Chinese New Year, Chinese New Year Emerald and Chinese New Year Holo Gold (/8) -- and they will be found one per pack.
