What's buzz-worthy: A new Contenders will include a new crop of draft picks, present-day rookies and veterans as well as even some retired greats when it arrives this fall.

The Basics: These 18-card packs will include a mix of inserts and parallels as always with an autograph in every pack and a box including a total of 18 Purple Season Ticket cards and one numbered parallel card. Rookies will get a good ride here in the Rookie Roundup auto set as well as on Rookie Ticket, ROY Contenders autos cards, too, for starters in a product that will include nods to 1998 and 1999 Contenders designs. ... Some of the insert sets will include Future Stars, Potential and Up & Coming. ... Ticket autos will have A and B versions in this one along with a number of parallels (not yet detailed) but some of them will include Cracked Ice, Diamond and Building Blocks. There will be Draft Pick and Prospect tickets, too, while veterans will be found on standard Contenders autographs. ... Other inclusions will be Winning Tickets, Game Day and Legacy cards. ... These will carry a suggested retail price of $20 per pack ($120 per box).
