What's buzz-worthy: Rookies & Stars returns for another season with a new crop of rookies and, yep, plenty of stars in a release that will include plenty to collect.

The Basics: Rippers here will get 22 inserts, five serial-numbered parallels and 12 Rookie Cards per box like last year. The basic set will include 200 cards -- 100 base veterans and 100 rookies -- with each having a rainbow of parallels (see gallery). They will be joined by Great American Heroes, Airborne, Longevity Signatures, Stellar Rookies (1o players), Crusade and Statistical Standouts for starters each heavy on parallels, too. Crusades will have autographed versions (/25 max), too. Optichrome stock will be used for several insert sets here. ... Also among the hits will be Statistical Standouts auto-mem cards (/99 max), Dress For Success (/99 max; hobby-only) and Team Duals cards. ... Packs will include 10 cards and boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $100.50 per box ($16.75 per pack).
