What's buzz-worthy: Select returns as a standalone release after some time as a Chronicles inclusion with a lineup of tiered cards, parallels and hits all in varying colors and parallel textures.

The Basics: There will be five cards per pack here with a total of nine parallels per box atop the hits and a mix of prospects, rookies and veteran players all on Optichrome stock. The tiers for the main set will include Base, Premier and Diamond Level cards. ... Hits this time will include Rookie Signatures and Rookie Jersey Autographs as well as Launch Angle autos, X-Factor Material Signatures, Signatures (prospects and veterans) and Signature Materials. ... Among the parallel possibilites are Zebra (hobby only), Holo, Gold Vinyl, Gold, Tri-color and Cracked Ice -- though a full lineup was not noted. ... A base set size also was not noted but it will be at least 250 cards. ... The only insert set noted for this one was Sparks, which will be cards found for 10 players. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $120 ($10 per pack).
