First Buzz: 2020 Panini Select football cards

What's buzz-worthy: Select returns with the same format as past years but "more parallels, inserts and unique content than ever before," according to the company.

The Basics: Boxes will include 10 Silver Prizms, five other Prizms and six insert cards each time. The base set will include 400 cards with a number of parallels for each of its tiers -- Concourse, Premier Level, Club Level and Field Level. See the gallery for a full breakdown there. ... Among the hits will be jumbo rookie signature swatches, rookie signature memorabilia and jumbo rookie swatch cards for starters. For inserts, there will be Phenomenon, Select1ons, Rookie Selections and Snapshot cards. Select1ons are new with past No. 1 overall draft picks getting the focus. There also will once again be XRC cards for players taken in the 2021 NFL Draft. ... Boxes will carry an increased suggested retail price of $250 for this year (up from $150 last year).

Update (Feb. 24): There will be H2 (Hobby Hybrid) boxes for this one with four six-card packs per box (20 per caee) with Disco cards the difference. There will be two Silver Prizms and four Disco Prizm cards per box along with two Disco autos per case. The base Disco parallels will include Disco, Red, Blue, Gold, Green and Black cards with their numbering noted in the gallery.
