Keep reading for more and a full gallery of images.
The Basics: Just like last year, the rookie auto rainbow will include a number of Refractors -- standard (/499), Purple (/250), Blue (/150), Blue Wave (/150), Gold (/50), Gold Wave (/50; hobby-only), Orange (/25), Orange Wave (/25; hobby-only), Red (/5), Red Wave (/5; hobby-only) and 1/1 Superfractors and printing plates. Joining them on the inked front will be a new take on the 1985 Topps design (/TBD) with Orange, Red, Superfractor and printing plate parallels to the same volumes. Also in the mix will be Freshman Flash autos (/99) with the same parallels as well as Future Stars (/TBD) with the same parallels. A new one for 2020 will be All-Time Rookie Cup Team autos (/TBD) with those same parallels as well as dual-rookie autos (/25) with just Red and Superfractor parallels. ... For fans of Relics, there will be some new-old inclusions here as Retro Rookie Chrome Relic cards will add memorabilia pieces into reprints of notable RCs from the past. They will be found with Green (/99), Orange (/25), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors as well as autographs that will vary in volume by player.
The 200-card base set will be a mix of Series 1 and Series 2 players with a deep parallel rainbow. Refractors will include standard, Prism, Negative, Purple (/299), Blue (/150), Green (/99), Green Wave (/99), Blue Wave (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Wave (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Wave (/25), Red (/5), Red Wave (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors and printing plates just like last year. There also will be photo variations for some cards in the base set with Green, Gold, Orange, Red and Superfractor versions as well as some standard cards dubbed as "super short prints." ... Inserts will include a Chromed take on 1985 Topps, Freshman Flash, Future Stars and Decade of Dominance. Each of these will have parallel rainbows that include Green, Gold, Orange, Red and Supers just like last year, though the Dominance cards, which will be diecut, will not have Greens.
