What's buzz-worthy: All those big moves of the off-season and new rookies will be found in the second installment of 1971 Topps to come this year with some new touches in the release, too.

The Basics: The basic set will once again consist of 200 cards with 25 short-prints atop that. Parallels once again will include White parallels (announced /50), flip-stock cards (announced /5), Chromes for 50 cards (/999) with Refractors (/571) -- and White (/71), Gold (/5), 1/1 Superfractors and Hot Box Refractors. There also will be Minis (/100) for 50 new cards. There also, of course, will be missing-signature, throwback, action (hobby-only) and silver-name variations as well as some "additional surprises."
Real One Autographs return with on-card ink and Red (/71 max) parallels along with 1971 World Series Champion auto for the Pittsburgh Pirates. On the auto-Relic front, there will be Clubhouse Collection Auto Relics (/25) with 1/1 Patch parallels that are hobby-only along with duals (/10 max) with a 1/1 Patch versions (hobby-only). There also will be baseball and celeb cut autograph sets. For standard Relics, there are Clubhouse Collection cards with Gold (/99) and 1/1 Patch parallels along with dual (/71), triple (/25) and quad (/10) cards all also with 1/1 hobby-only patch versions. New for Relics in this one will be Let's Play 2(528) Relics (/25 max) with 1/1 Gold parallels to celebrate the career of Ernie Banks.
The standard insert lineup should be familiar with Rookie Performers, Now and Then, Combo Cards, Award Winners, 1971 World Series Highlights, Let's Play 2(528). Finishing things off will be three types of box-toppers -- Supers (with autos (/25 max possible), Greatest Moments and stamped buybacks.
