What's buzz-worthy: The second series of Topps' flagship 2020 set arrives with more of what we'll see for the first time soon as well as some new surprises and other inclusions not found in Series 1. Among those things? A Mike Trout Player of the Decade tribute set.

The Basics: There will be 25 more golden tickets for a 2020 Topps collector experience "that will be talked about for decades" within the boxes of this one. .... The base set will once again consist of 350 cards -- a mix of veterans, rookies, team cards and Future Stars for starters. Each will have at least 12 parallels with rainbow foil, gold foil, Gold (/2,020), vintage stock (/99), Independence Day (/76, up top), Black (/69), Mother's Day Hot Pink (/50), Father's Day Powder Blue (/50), Memorial Day Camo (/25), Clear (/10) and 1/1 Platinum as well as printing plates. Gold foil will be hobby jumbo only while Black parallels and Clears will only be found in hobby packs.

Among the inserts will be Decades' Best once again with unique looks for each decade from the 1950s to the 2010s with the best teams, hitters, pitchers and award-winners getting the nod. These will have Blue ("limited"), Black (/299), Gold (/50), Red (/10) and 1/1 Platinum parallels as well as autographs (/25 max). New for this one will be WARriors of The Diamond for the stat-minded collectors that will have the same parallels as well as Topps 2030 that looks a lot like the 10-year-old Topps 2020 inserts some of you may remember. Those will be one in six hobby packs or one per jumbo box.  Joining them will be a Mike Trout Topps Player of the Decade set "celebrating the 10-year MLB career of a living legend" that also will have the same parallels along with Significant Statistics cards that will only be found with Gold, Red and Platinum versions (same volumes). Also back will be a batch of 1985 Topps insert -- this time the standard cards are joined by an All-Star design. They'll have Blue, Black, Gold, Red and Platinum versions, too. Rounding things out will be 1/1 sketch cards and Decade's Best Chrome cards -- in a hobby-only two-card box-topper pack.

For autographs, there will be a bit smaller lineup of basic sets compared to the first release. There will be Baseball Stars autos from the past and present with Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum versions as well as rare Baseball Stars dual-auto cards limited to only five copies. Joining them will be 1985 Topps basic and All-Star autos for past and present players with Black, Gold, Red and Platinum parallels also in play. Joining them will be Significant Statistics autos (/50) with just Red and Platinum versions as well as other signed inserts already noted elsewhere here. There will be a 1/1 cut auto lineup, too. The Trout Player of the Decade cards will be limited to no more than 25 copies with only some of the cards in the set found signed.

For Relics, the lineup will be similar to the ink with a few twists. Starting things off will be 1985 Topps Relics (standard and All-Star sets) with Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum parallels just like Series 1 and that same parallel lineup will be applied to a new batch of the Major League Material cards. Joining them will be Significant Statistics Relics (/99 max) with just Red and Platinum versions as well as 1/1 In the Name Relics. ... Autographed Relics will be found for two sets -- Major League Materials and Significant Statistics -- with each limited to no more than 50 cards with just Red and Platinum parallels.

There also will be two types of manufactured Relics in this one -- Jumbo Special Event Jersey Sleeve Patches and Draft Day Medallions. These will be found in both hobby and jumbo and have a parallel rainbow that includes Black (/50), Gold (/25), Red (/10) and 1/1 Platinum cards as well as autographs (/10 max). Those volumes are a lot lower than in Series 1. The Silver packs will be back for this release as well with one bonus pack for every hobby box and two for every jumbo box. These will include past and present players in a Chromed version of the 1985 Topps set with autographs and parallels also among the possibilities.

Retail Details: There will be one manufactured Relic per blaster box and Turkey Red will also make a comeback in this series (as it will in Series 1) with 100 more cards showcasing stars and rookies with Blue (/50), Green (/10) and 1/1 Black parallel cards. New for this year will be retail-only Topps coin cards also only in blasters with Black (/99), Gold (/50), Red (/10) and 1/1 Platinum versions as well as autographs limited to no more than 10 copies.

The 75 standard variations have a code ending with 115, while the 25 rarer (SSP) variations end with 116. There's also an even-rarer triple-rookie SP to be found among the rarest variations (end in 117) that also include a Luis Robert no-name card, a Mookie Betts and a Josh Donaldson card with a Josh Donaldson cameo (end of gallery).
