What's buzz-worthy: After a decade in the dugout, the high-end Topps Sterling returns with a mini-box/master box format that delivers big and more atop of that.

The Basics: Each master box has two mini boxes with one including an autographed Relic (/25 max with an on-card sig), while the second includes an auto-Relic or a 1/1 Relic. The 1/1s are found twice per case. ... There will be themed mini boxes just like previous versions of this one with the subject revealed once the master box is opened -- and the auto Relic or Relic from that box will tie into the theme. Among the possibilities will be World Series Champions, Yankees greats, MVPs and All-Star Rookie Cup players from the past among other categories. ... On-card auto Relic sets will include Sterling Seasons, Sterling Strikes and Sterling Swings. Seasons cards will have multiple Relic pieces starting at 25 copies (two swatches) with Blue (/10, three pieces), Red (/5, four pieces) and 1/1 Silver (five pieces). Strikes cards will focus on pitchers with the same parallels and volumes, while the Swings cards will focus on notable hitters with the same volume. ... Joining these will be Sterling Sets Dual Auto Relics with two players' Relics and on-card ink (/10) with Red (/5) and 1/1 Silver versions as well as Sterling Sets Triple Autograph Relics where three players get the nod (/10) with the same parallels. Also in the mix will be Sterling Splendor Jumbo Autos with oversized swatches (/5) with those cards having Red (/3) and 1/1 Silver parallels. ... Among the Unique Relics will be seven 1/1 sets -- jersey letter patches, bat knobs, autographed bat knobs, bat nameplates, autographed bat nameplates, cut autos and legendary Relics.
