First Buzz: 2020 Topps WWE Women's Division trading cards

Update (March 9, 2021): Due to pack-out delays, Topps has reconfigured this to be a single-pack box -- 60 cards per with one autograph and one memorabilia card among them. There will be eight boxes per case. It also will no longer have a retail companion, making the hobby run a little larger than previously planned, according to Topps.

What's buzz-worthy: The WWE's set just for the women just might be foreshadowing some action to come later this year and heading into next year's WrestleMania ... and it's not even a 1/1 cardboard creation.

The Basics: Among the inclusions here? A pair of Four Horsewomen autograph books (/25) -- one for the WWE's home-grown stars (Bayley, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks) and one for the former MMA competitors who have made their way into wrestling led by Ronda Rousey. Could this show something potentially in the works in some way in the ring? We'll see ... but it's odd that these cards hadn't happened until now. ... The base set will consist of highlight cards showcasing the women of Smackdown, Raw and NXT in action in the last year with a parallel lineup that includes Purple (/99), Green (/75), Orange (/50), Blue (/25), Gold (/10), Black (/5) and 1/1 Red versions as well as printing plates. ... Among the inserts will be Roster cards, Breaking Barriers and Superstar Transformations (past and present looks). Each will have Blue, Gold, Black and Red parallels at the same volumes. ... Autographs will have a number of parallels with Pink (/150), Purple (/99), Green (/75), Orange (/50), Blue (/25), Gold (/10), Black (/5) and 1/1 Red versions as well as printing plates. There also will be tag team dual-auto cards with Gold (/10), Black (/5) and 1/1 Red parallels as well as triples with the same parallels. ... Relics will have just one type -- Mat Relics -- and then there will be Championship Plate Patches and Tribute Cut Signatures. ... The two Relics will have Pink (/199), Purple (/99), Orange (/50), Blue (/25), Gold (/10) and 1/1 Red as well as autographed (/10) versions -- and those will have Red (1/1) parallels.
