What's buzz-worthy: Absolute takes the field once again with fewer autos (and, in turn, a lower suggested retail price) but plenty of the past and present stars one would expect as well as plenty of memorabilia.

The Basics: Each box will include one serial-numbered insert card along with the four hits and then 15 other cards. The 100-card base set's parallel rainbow will include Holo Silver (/199), Spectrum Blue (/149), Spectrum Red (/99), Spectrum Gold (/10) and 1/1 Spectrum Black as well as printing plates. ... Among the inserts will be cards for 15 Icons as well as 15 Power cards. ... Among hits will be Patches -- a 100-card set with parallels -- Rookie Baseball Material autos with sweet spots and bat barrels and Iconic Ink for starters. Joining them will be the trademark Tools of the Trade sets with two-, three-, four- and six-swatch cards along with the players' autos. ... Boxes carry a lowered suggested retail price of $130 ($65 per pack) compared to $100 per pack last year.
