What's buzz-worthy: Panini brings its all-in-one brand to the NASCAR circuit for a second time with this one presenting a number of brands as well as new Jeff Gordon cards and autographs.

The Basics: Every hobby box will include four hits (not one per pack) along with a pair of Spectra cards, which will be in the packs where there's no hit. Among the brands coming in this one will be Obsidian, Gold Standard and Select for starters with hits arriving in Obsidian, Cornerstones, Contenders Optic, Chronicles, Black, Status, Rookie Materials and Prime for starters among those teased. Chronicles hits will use sheet metal, firesuits, gloves and tires with five parallels (/49 max), while Prime jumbos will showcase firesuits with 21 parallels limited to no more than four copies for all 30 cards. ... Basic cards will include a mix of standard, plastic and Optichrome stock. Each set will have five parallels limited to no more than 199 copies. ... Packs once again carry a suggested retail price of $20.

Update: Gordon's cards in this one are his first from Panini and he offered these thoughts on returning to cardboard. “I’ve been impressed with what Panini America has done not just with the NASCAR license, but with the trading card market as a whole,” Gordon said in a prepared statement. “Panini America is innovative and creative, and I look forward to working closely with them to create new trading cards that I know my fans are going to love.”
